No dog too big or small.

Pet care experience

I have had a passion for the care and well-being of animals of all kinds since I was a child. When I was in middle school I did research papers based on animal cruelty, into high school I did research papers on animal control cases. I completed a couple years of pre-vet schooling at UofA in Tucson, and now I am currently enrolled in a Veterinary Technician Bachelor program to continue my education. I’ve worked at a number of dog boarding facilities, including the one in Camp Verde (Hillside Canine) I was even promoted to manager in my time that I spent there in 2019. Since leaving, I have had maintained a few dog sitting clients of my own, all of which I routinely dog sit for through out the year. Since I thoroughly enjoy working with dogs, cats, and some farm animals, I want to expand my clientele and build trusting relationships with pets and their owners. I am prompt, respectful and organized. I follow medication, feeding, and potty routines, along with providing your fur baby with the upmost comfort while you are away.

Marisa did a wonderful job! My puppy was happy and healthy upon my return. Marisa was great at communicating and keeping me up to date and did a great job watching my puppy!

Marisa is currently a sophomore at the U of A in the pre-vet med program. Her career choice is to become a veterinarian- that alone should convince you she is a whole hearted animal lover! Marisa truly puts animals first and always shows genuine care and concern for every pet she encounters. I have four dogs and I can always count on Marisa to help me with any little thing I need when it comes to my fur babies! All four of my dogs are different sizes and different breeds and I can attest that Marisa can handle each one! She personally knows each of my dogs simply because she invested the time to get to know them, quirks and all. The largest and youngest is a Doberman mix with aggression issues, the medium is my only boy and he's a Sheltie, we also have a chihuahua who is the spoiled one and then there's the Yorkie mix who has seizures. Marisa can handle all of them and I trust her with them at all times. They happen to just adore her as well.... especially when it comes to treat time!

Safety, trust & environment

I always ask for a list or routine from pet owners, so that I am able to follow it and not disrupt the pets comfortability. I’ve noticed dogs thrive on their routine and any way to build trust between an animal and myself I try to achieve.

Information Marisa C. would like to know about your pet

Aggression, whether fear based or dog based, it is something I try to work around for the dog itself. I understand some dogs are fearful of strangers, so building a relationship with the dog prior to sitting or walking is really important to me.

A typical day

Depending on the level of energy a dog has, I love to take them on walks around the block, play fetch, try a few tricks and provide enrichment through w or treats.
