I wasn't allowed to have a dog as a kid. I had cats and a turtle. I grew up in Florida, there were a lot of strays I would feed. I remember specifically a pitbull puppy. I would sneak out and feed him leftover pizza so he would stop crying. I don't think the owner was treating him well. I still wonder what happened to the dog til this day. I've always loved all animals but never really knew how unique dogs were until I had my own. In comparison dogs have a much shorter natural lifespan than humans. I try to make their time here enjoyable and memorable. Whatever they need to be happy, safe and taken care of. At my previous job, I'd bring a bag of dog treats for any dog that happened to show up if their owner allowed it. I ended up making really good friends with a pitbull that came in almost weekly.
