Good fun & great care in Greenlake
Pet care experience
** UPDATE: my dog Leonard was diagnosed in October with lymphoma. While he is still feeling well and as he goes through treatment, I will be stepping back from a lot of my pet care to focus on him. Starting in May 2024 I will be mostly pausing all in-home care. Feel free to reach out but please understand if I decline. ** I live just five blocks from Green Lake in a cozy, dog-friendly apartment and neighborhood, with a fenced front and backyard. I moved to Seattle for graduate school from upstate New York, where I lived on a farm with nearly 100 goats, several alpacas, and a neurotic and lovable border collie. My friendly, goofy pup, Leonard, traveled cross-country with me and loves his new home. He likes nothing better than to take long walks around the lake - except perhaps a visit to the Marymoor off-leash park. We frequently walk or run around the Green Lake trail and neighborhood streets, and also like to make trips to some of the many parks Seattle has to offer. Leonard and I are a certified therapy dog team, and he loves to meet new friends (of both the human and canine varieties). I have owned and cared for dogs for over 15 years, been a Rover sitter for 9, and am never happier than when I'm snuggling up to a warm and wriggly pup. You can feel confident that I will care for your dog as meticulously as needed; I have extensive experience administering medications (to farm animals, as well as dogs), including injections and IV fluids. I am very comfortable with large and giant breeds, and am experienced in caring for dogs with special behavioral needs. Should your dog stay with me, you can expect that he or she will be treated as one of my own, and part of my family. This is a beautiful place to be a dog!
Reviews
Marion is so good with our Dr. Pickles! We really appreciate how caring and responsive she is!
We love Marion! She's so great with our BIG Pit-mastiff and even takes her on long walks and wears her out. She also has the sweetest dog at home who always welcomes our girl too!
Best pet sitter there is!!
Very easy to coordinate with. My dog loves her.

We have a fully-fenced backyard with lots of space -- perfect for any dogs who are reactive on leash or nervous at dog parks. Leonard has an extra large crate that he's happy to lend to anyone who may need it. I also keep a Furbo pet camera on hand in case I have to be away for longer periods of time, and can check in to make sure all is well.

Information Marion F. would like to know about your pet
It's important that I know as much as possible about your dog in order to provide the best care. What is your dog's usual routine? How frequently does he or she need to be taken outside, and are there any special signals to pay attention to (my parents' dog, for example, is not vocal - he simply follows us around a little more excessively than usual)? How does your dog behave on leash? I won't EVER let your dog off-leash outside of a fenced area, so it's important to know their tendencies. Does your dog have any special dietary or medicinal requirements? Are there any training rules or plans that I should follow with your dog? It's very important to be consistent with training, and I want to maintain the work you have done with your dog. Feel free to provide any additional information that you think I might find useful!
A typical day
I want your dog to feel as comfortable in my home as both of my own. I will follow the schedule and training plan your dog is familiar with. Although the yard here is fenced, I make regular trips to the dog park to allow my boy to stretch his legs, and am happy to do the same for yours. Long walks around the lake provide great exercise, too. I am also a casual runner, and am happy to take your well-behaved pup for a 2-4 mile run to burn off some energy! Many dogs also suffer from separation anxiety, even in their own homes, so I'll spend as much time with your dog as needed - whether that means some active after-dinner playtime or a dozy morning Netflix session together. Whatever the situation, we'll work together to come up with a care plan to keep your dog as comfortable and happy as possible!
