I have worked for Rover for about two years dog sitting dogs in my own home. This past August, I welcomed a new addition to our home, Pixar, the English Shepherd. Her arrival meant I can no longer dog sit in my own home. I am now only available for drop in visits/dog walking. Before I chose to be a stay at home mom, I worked as a veterinary assistant. Before that I worked as a dog walker and doggy day care attendant which was when I realized that my career had to involve dogs. I was also once the mom to a wonderful Golden Retriever who passed away several years ago. It was shortly after she passed away that I found Rover. Given my experiences as both a dog owner and an employee taking care of dogs, I believe I understand the concerns of owners when they leave their dog or dogs in the care of someone else. My vet assistant experience means I am comfortable with giving medications and taking care of older dogs or dogs with special needs. My experience as a dog owner means I will treat your dog as well as I would treat my own. My visit with your dog would be tailored to suit his or her personality and needs. If you are a member of a local dog park, we could certainly head there. I'm happy to accept a last minute request if your typical sitter can't make it or if you find yourself with a last minute scheduling issue. I do have to meet you and your dog before I accept any request.
