Animal Lover-Prior Vet Experience

Pet care experience

Hey! I am Marina and I am a 24 year old recent college graduate. I relocated to Rhode Island in July as my husband is in the Coast Guard. I worked at a vet clinic before my move, and I like to do pet care on the side because it’s something I really enjoy! I have experience caring for small and large dogs, cats, chickens, reptiles, fish, rabbits, guinea pigs and more. You can be certain I am a responsible caregiver! I love to play outside (or inside!) and go for long walks depending on your pets’ energy levels. I am caring and compassionate as well as reliable. I have experience with oral and subcutaneously injected medications. Please reach out if you have any further questions.

This was my first time leaving my Ruby with a sitter, and I was nervous but Marina gave my pup the best day! Ruby looked so happy in the photos Marina posted, I knew she was in good hands. A kind and caring animal lover and really nice person. I would definitely trust her care in the future. Thank you so much Marina!

Tavish had a great walk with Marina. We appreciated her very thorough review of their walk and the cute pictures, too! Arline LaMear

Safety, trust & environment

In a client’s home, I love to play in the yard if it is fenced in/spacious enough and take long walks. I try to avoid interactions with other people and dogs until I’m comfortable with your pet! I am a huge cat lover as well and am good with nervous and/or skittish pets. I am patient to gain trust with nervous animals as I understand their discomfort with strangers in their home.

Information Marina D. would like to know about your pet

I prefer to know if you want them walked in public or just let out at home. If a dog is used to leash walking and prefers to explore public trails I am happy to take them. If they are more shy/home-bodies then I can provide at home exercise. In addition to this, I like to know their reactions to other dogs/if I should avoid interactions in public.

A typical day

I love to take dogs on neighborhood walks as well as long play times in the home. Catch and fetch are my favorite games (even though my dog hates to return his toys). I love to find local, minimally trafficked paths to walk to ensure dogs get proper exercise without too much stress, especially if I am not familiar with the dog's mannerisms. For cats, I can do laser pointer or throw a bell-ball for hours. Depending on their comfortability, I am also okay with laying on the floor for long periods of time while waiting for them to build their trust.
