I grew up with two dogs, who were both an integral part of my childhood. I helped care for both dogs from puppyhood to old age. Although both have since passed on, I still love animals, particularly dogs. I am excited about the opportunity to care for your pets. I'm a former collegiate athlete and I am still very active as a long distance runner. I will walk (or run!) your dogs for as long and as often as they desire. However, I'm also patient and excited to work with older or less active dogs. I'm a great communicator and I'm always willing to chat with you about what your pet(s) need from me!

My animals love Marikate! I needed to be away to care for my mom. Not once, in a stressful three weeks did I worry about my pup and two kitties. One of my cats will only sit on my lap and no one else’s lap - until now! The daily photos and updates were just what I needed! They even cheered my mom up. Marikate also leaves the house tidy and feeling like home. Marikate made my time away so much easier. She’s a fabulous sitter!

Marikate was so good to our critters! Our dog is high energy so she took her out for both a run and a walk each day. I have never come home to such a calm and happy dog! The kitties acted like we never left. And the house was perfectly clean. She’s thoughtful, tidy, and knows what our animals needed. You can’t ask for more than that! I plan to hire her again and again.
Stuffin has lots of energy and she loved her walking/running with Marikate!

A typical day
When weather permits, I LOVE to walk your pup as they desire - they choose (within reason) the distance, route, and number of sniff breaks! If it's too hot though, I'll keep the outdoor piece brief, then come back inside to play games or love on your pup.

Availability
I work 9-5 during the week, but I am available at all other hours of the day. I am free most weekends as well and am happy to watch your pups during your weekend getaway!
