As most people on here surely are, I am an avid dog, cat and animal lover! My family has owned multiple dogs, cats, birds, snakes, fish and other interesting animals without a break since I was young. I got my own dog, Ollie, after we bred our mama dog when I was 17 and she’s been my adventure pooch and good friend since. I had a cat for 6 years but he ran away last summer. Other than my own dog, I dog sit my next door neighbors’ two dogs when they go out of town. For my five years of college, I’d cat-sit a family friend’s 4 cats anytime they’d go out of town. I’ve given both dogs and cats shots, administered time-sensitive medicine multiple times a day, and I follow dietary restrictions carefully. My dog has always been a very high energy dog since she’s a vizsla so I’ve been bringing her on bike rides to expend her energy for the last 4 years. I have a leash that straps around my waist and she keeps my pace and runs beside me as I bike. This is a great way to get her really tired without exhausting me and keeping her lean and in shape. If you have a high energy dog who needs extra running and is teachable, I’d love to bike with them! As far as other pet care, I can handle any challenge or quirks your pets have. I can do any care with dogs and cats, know how to handle and take care of birds, fish, and other small animals. My main special skill as a pet sitter is that I have a very calm demeanor and find most animals grow easily comfortable with me. I’ve handled animals that have been adopted from abusive families and am very patient with nervous or aggressive dogs and cats.
