Pet care experience
My name is Marie! I’m an avid animal lover, personal, and professional. Growing up, my family always had lots of animals. I was raised to care for birds, dogs, cats, and even chickens. I would consider a lot of my experience to be hands on. I got my own dog, Jade, when I moved into my first apartment at 18. She needed help building confidence and socializing. She changed my world for the better and inspired me to help other dogs like her! So I began working at Faithful Friends animal shelter, where I adopted my second special needs dog, and after a few years started working with the SPCA! I still use my spare time to volunteer for animal rescue organizations. I’ve had the privilege of working with two reputable dog trainers, who have been gracious to teach me the skills of Clicker Training, and consciousnesses of Behaviors and Body Language. I love being a part of the process of caring for, training, and seeing the wonders of what patience, love, and positive reinforcement does for an animal! There isn’t any pet I wouldn’t love! I will help your best friend be the best they can be, and be there for you both on your journey. I hope to meet you and all of your pets!

Marie is very loving toward all animals. She is careful to manage interactions between dogs and other animals and people according to each dog's personality. Marie has taken in animals for care giving when needed. She personally adopted a dog, and has been a companion to other dogs, cats, and birds. She takes joy in meeting new dogs and making bonds with them. She has handled both small and large breeds with loving authority.

I care for pets per the owners instructions. I will take pictures of your pet(s) to send to you throughout and/or at the end of service. I like to leave a note of what the pet and I did for the day, if they ate & went to the bathroom, and anything else worth mentioning! I always use my own treat pouch, leash, and poop bags. If there are dietary restrictions please be sure to mention this before a service, and if applicable, supply an alternative.

I would like to know any medical, behavioral, or otherwise concerns/focal points the owner may find important, and if you would like me to clicker train with them! All breeds, sizes, & ages are accepted. If your dog has a bite record, this needs to be disclosed with all context beforehand. I can work with most dogs that have a bite record. Clicker training helps sharpen the minds of dogs and help them associate their actions to what is expected of them, by adding a marker to tricks & treats, we see dogs make long term connections to the behaviors we want them to perform!
A typical day
Parks and nature centers, around the neighborhood if it’s relatively big and has a lot of grassy areas, dog parks if that is something the owner is comfortable with.

Availability
I am currently self employed, with two dogs of my own. My schedule can be flexible! I live in Altoona, PA. Walks and drop-ins can be easily scheduled. Overnight sitting is available for no more than 9 hour periods, to allow me to return home and care for my dogs as well.
