Pet care experience
*Hablo español* I have 13 years of full-time experience working primarily with dolphins, but also sea lions, seals, penguins, sharks, turtles, and other marine animals. I have 2 years of full time experience working with elephants. Now I direct my nurturing tendencies towards dogs and cats. I have served as a foster home for Sniffing Snouts Pit Bull rescue, and worked with dogs with special needs. I have cared for other people's pets my entire life, providing them with walks, baths, feeding, and medications.
Reviews
Marie did such a wonderful job taking care of Lucas and Lester while we were away on vacation. She provided constant updates, and the best photos and videos of them! The peace of mind that we had while we were away from our babies can't be overstated enough. Knowing that our kids were with someone as responsible and loving as Marie means everything. Thanks for treating Lucas and Lester like one of your own, Marie. Do not hesitate to book her. You won't regret it.
Rusty had another great stay with Marie and Napo. He ran to her house and never looked back. When he came back home he was happy and exhausted. That's a good stay!
This was Dexter’s third time staying with Marie. She makes him feel loved and at home and sets my mind at ease. We both love Marie!
This was our dog’s fourth stay at Marie’s and all went wonderful. Our dog enjoys walking with Marie and Napo, running in her fenced backyard and playing with plenty of tennis balls. Our dog has sensitive eyes and we really appreciated Marie applying his eyedrops daily. We picked him up happy and healthy. Thank you Marie!

I have a large yard, surrounded with a 5-foot fence! I only accept pets from one household at a time to ensure your pet(s)' safety & happiness. I make exceptions for repeat clients, ensuring pet temperaments are compatible. That said, I operate on a first-paid, first-served basis. In this way I can ensure each pet receives great individual attention, keeping your pet(s) happy and safe while you are away. I also have an Australian Kelpie who is Canine Good Citizen certified by the A.K.C. Napo generally attends a commercial dog day care once a week to maintain her excellent social skills and is great with other dogs, cats, and both young and older people. Together we will help your baby relax and feel at home!

Information Marie T. would like to know about your pet
Dogs will need to have their first year rabies vaccinations. Please be sure to upload your veterinarian's contact information, in case of an emergency. Please upload your pet's diet, feeding instructions, and if your pet requires any medications, the name of the medication, dosage, and frequency the medication is to be given. Please let me know if your dog has any other special needs. Finally, please share any unique information about your pet that will help their stay go smoother :-)
A typical day
I love to engage animals through play time, training, and physical activity! We have lots of dog toys, including a selection of balls, chew toys, tugs, and more! For enrichment, many birds and squirrels frequent my large, fenced yard, as I provide sunflower seeds and we live along the Econlockhatchee River and Jay Blanchard Park. There are wooded trails behind our house. If you are comfortable with it, we will happily take your pup for walks in the park! I have a plastic puppy pool (see profile photos) for those dogs that enjoy splashing around. Pets are permitted on the furniture, as long as that is alright for them in their regular home. That said, I don't have a lot of furniture, so my living room is sort of like a mini-gymnasium, great for pet play times :-) Your pet's safety and happiness are my primary goals. Currently, I accept pets from one household at a time. In this way, it is just your pet(s) and my dog. I make exceptions for repeat clients, ensuring pet temperaments are compatible. My dog, an Australian Kelpie named Napo, has passed the Canine Good Citizen test administered by the AKC (American Kennel Club). To ensure my dog remains well socialized, she attends dog day care outside my home one day per week. She is excellent with all dogs, cats, chickens, cows, etc. Find this short YouTube video of Napo playing with one of her best friends by searching "Adventure Dog Napo The Australian Kelpie: Napo & Penny Field Day". Napo will help your pet(s) feel at home and loved. If you have unique pets, I am happy to help here too. In addition to my professional exotic animal husbandry and training experience, I have had pet skunks, chickens, cows, cockatiels, doves, snakes, salamanders, and both fresh and salt water aquaria. I also have limited wildlife rehabilitation experience. So, if you need somewhere for your ferret, goat, or whatever, we are the home for you!
