Lover of all Animals 🐶🌈😽

Pet care experience

Your Dogs will love their stay at the Hillside Hound Hotel ❤️. I have cared for animals in a rehab/foster/owner setting for the last 30 years. There isn’t much I haven’t seen as far as behaviors & personality quirks . We treat all visitors with the same love our own pets receive! I am familiar with administering meds and injections. I have extensive knowledge of illness and wound care for animals. I am willing to help with all species except rabbits (highly allergic) and anything with more than 4 legs. At the end of the day when the whole group piles on the couch & tails are wagging- that’s the sign of a good day in my world.

Stella Watson had such a great time! I'm glad Marie slowly introduced her to the other pets and sent me a couple of videos of her playing with the other dogs and a cat!

Marie was great. Always responsive. She watched our two goldens while we were on vacation. She sent photos and video while we were gone which we appreciate. Looks like they had lots of fun. Would definitely take them back to Marie again

Safety, trust & environment

I have a fenced rural yard. We allow couch naps, barking, & fun noisy play. We keep a large 75 gallon water trough filled out in the yard and although it’s meant for drinking sometimes it’s unintentionally used for swimming dogs cooling off and that’s just fine too! I am absolutely fine with meet & greets with MYSELF and your furry family member but as far as throwing all the animals together for a meeting- my philosophy is to slowly make introductions as the dogs are feeling comfortable. Sometimes that can take a couple hours. I want you to trust that I will make those introductions when the time is right. If personalities don’t mesh well we may break dogs up into smaller little groups and not have all the dogs interact with each other in a large group. It’s not fun if someone feels scared or bullied so I will not force any dog Into that situation. My goal is to keep your pet feeling safe and loved while they are here.

Information Marie J. would like to know about your pet

The most important details are : 1) feeding habits (food aggression) so that I can keep your pet feeling safe and keep any other dogs safe. 2) prey drive- I also have a small senior dog that thinks she is the boss- so I need to be sure your dog is able to get along with a tiny dog 3) where does your dog like to sleep? Let me know if we need a kennel or are they used to being free range at night. 4) if your dog is not potty trained please bring belly bands / diapers or we will have to kennel

A typical day

The back is fenced and grassy with a large concrete patio for sunning. We do have a security camera back there but the only backyard excitement we usually have is the occasional deer, wild turkeys and raccoons which always get the group excited and barking.
