I have had animals almost all my life, mainly dogs and cats. We have had different breeds of dogs in our home but, they were usually large dogs. We have had 2 St. Bernards and a German Shepherd among others. I had my first cat for 18 years. I have always been very comfortable with dogs and cats. Our first Saint Bernard was a competition dog so obedience was very important. I learned the basics of obedience and dog training at an early age. When I adopted my last dog, he obeyed commands at a distance and only with gestures. I also helped a friend train her dog who had never been trained. I know as much about dogs as I do about cats and I also have experience with laying hens because I have had them too. I am also skilled in giving them medication, even orally, without any problems. have learned some techniques for administering medication to dogs and cats. And I am not afraid to give medication even to big dogs. I have worked in homes for elderly people who owned cats but could not provide them with all the care they needed. take care of them because animal welfare is very important to me. I gave affection and attention, I cut their nails, I gave them medicine, I brushed them, some time had to put a cat in a carrier to bring it to the vet or the groomer. I had to visit a cat for 2 weeks because its owner had to be hospitalized. I took the opportunity to teach his cat to play with cat toys. His cat had never played in his life to his knowledge. And today, he is as happy as he has ever been.
