Experienced and caring pet sitter!

Pet care experience

Friends, neighbors, and family members have allowed me to watch their pets intermittently since I was around 10 years old. Watching pets for a few hours to a couple weeks, I have cared for a range of animals of all ages, including but not limited to: fish (freshwater), rodents (hamsters, rats, gerbils, mice, guinea pigs, and rabbits), birds (cockatiels and parakeets), reptiles (geckos and turtles), dogs (small to large), horses, and cats. I have been working at a doggie daycare for close to 2 years and have experience with all different types of dogs.

Marie was fantastic and I felt very comfortable with her watching my dog, if I ever need someone to look after my pup again she will be the first one I reach out to

Amazing job! Best house sitting I have had and I have been using rover for a long time! Took great care of both of my dogs and even cleaned up my house after them and sent lots of updates and pictures! Very thankful to have you during the time I was gone and even improvised to keep them locked up and safe after she realized my dogs found a way around the gate.

Marie is amazing! I am comfortable going on vacation knowing my dog is taken care of as well as I would!

You're the best pet sitter we've had. From the amazing pictures, to the detailed updates, AND the fenced in yard. This is the best doggy daycare. Thanks again, can't wait to come back!

Safety, trust & environment

I live in a 2-story apartment/house with 2 other dog-friendly roommates; they both have conflicting work/school schedules and are rarely all home at they same time. We have a small backyard (no fence), and I can provide frequent potty breaks and walks. If a dog is overwhelmed by a large group of people, it’s really easy to block off the stairs and hang out upstairs. We do not have any other animals in the house, and unfortunately one of my roommates is allergic to cats.

Information Marie A. would like to know about your pet

I don’t have any breed preferences, but I do like to know how a dog will react to other unknown dogs or people on walks or going other places; I want to always keep the dog’s safety in mind, along with my safety, an unknown dog’s, and an unknown owner’s. I like to know the level of training a dog has had so I can keep their daily patterns consistent to avoid accidentally helping them develop new or worsening bad habits. I also like to know certain anxieties a dog may have, so I can help alleviate or avoid fearful situations and promote a stress-free atmosphere for myself and the dog.

A typical day

I really enjoy cardio and working out, so I can take a dog on as many walks as they need or want! When walking a dog, I usually walk them as far as they can go before showing signs of tiredness, keeping in mind the dog’s age, health, breed, and size. I like to take my parents’ dog to the local dog park, but understand the safety concerns around meeting new and unknown dogs, always keeping an eye on her behavior and the other dogs that interact with her. I can play fetch with a dog as long as they want, and will entertain a friendly game of tug-o-war as long as it doesn’t become too aggressive; my parents’ dog personally loves to sunbathe, so I can spend as much time outside with a dog as they want or need (weather permitting of course).

I am 100% flexible to the pets' needs. All of my classes are online, so I will almost always be home and available to walk, let out, feed, and even bathe pets. I work at a doggie daycare during the week, so I will be unavailable during those times.
