Pet care experience

Hello/Bonjour, I’m Marianne 🏳️‍🌈 (She/They)! Thanks for your interest. With 25+ years experience in pet care across Canada, I’m expanding my clientele on the Rover app and really looking forward to building and maintaining meaningful relationships with my new clients in Edmonton. New to the app? Ask me about my discount code to get $20 off your first booking 🤑 Please make sure to read through here and the “Details” tab for all required pet info and available services before reaching out, and ensure your payment information is up-to-date. Thank you for tipping when you can and leaving a review promptly after the booking is completed. Your tip helps me cover additional costs to keep my home pet friendly for a variety of animals (like cleaning supplies (including my mini carpet cleaner cleaning solution), air filters, Brita filters, poop bags, garbage bags, preparing my home in a customized way to make your pet comfy, time cleaning my suite during the booking, and afterwards), time during our Meet ‘n Greet in my home and/or other communication prior to the booking, time commuting to your home for on-site Meet ‘n Greets, drop-ins, walks, and house sitting, as well as current first aid training. Your 5-star review and detailed comments helps me get recognized publicly for the awesome work I do with your pet (like visible references), helps my page grow, and is super appreciated to be completed on the pick up day/end of booking. As a Rover sitter I also provide feedback about you and your fur baby for your Rover pet parent profile which I always complete on the same day, so the reciprocity is much appreciated. Thank you 🙏🏻 I’m a scent-free human: please make sure your home (for house sitting) and pet supplies (when they come to my home) are scent free. If I detect scent on your pet’s bedding, I’ll simply bag it up and use the bedding I have available. I use positive reinforcement methods to work with your pet. I'm comfortable administering medication(s), supporting pets with special needs, high anxiety, those who are newly trained in commands, young puppies, kittens, or senior pets. I value transparency and relationship building with my clients so that they know their pet is in good hands. I love sending you photo updates of what your pet is up to while they're in my care….yes, you will get spammed :) I provide a minimum of 10 photo/video updates to a maximum of 20 photo/video updates per booking. Certifications: - Dog CPR and First Aid - Pet Safety I’m currently offering FREE GROOMING TO SMALL DOGS (just fur + nail trims, no baths) to practice my grooming skills. As I’m building my grooming finesse, let me know if I can practice on your small dog.

Marianne has been excellent! Over the past four weeks taking care of our two cats and home, she has been proactive and responsive. She has been exceptionally attentive and compassionate with our cats, including lots of play time. Marianne provided updates at least ten times a day, including lots of photos and videos, kept our home tidy and well maintained. Highly recommend.

Marianne always goes above and beyond when looking after our pups. They get so much love and attention, it puts us at total ease knowing they’re so well cared for while we’re away. Highly recommend her services!

Marianne is always our first choice for a pet sitter and she didn't disappoint with our cats latest stay. She genuinely seems to care for our little Loki and always kept us up to date on his progress and all of their adventures with multiple photo and video updates daily. I'm pretty sure he gets more attention there than he does at home! She clearly has a love for all animals and is a very genuine and kind person. I'm just so happy we found her!

We have nothing but good things to say about our experience with Marianne! She is friendly and professional with great communication. She sent us picture and video updates at least 10 times a day. (There’s no such thing as too many, if you ask me!) You can tell she just loves and cares so much about her dog clients. Our pups love her and I know they’ll just have so much fun the next time they stay with her. We are so, so happy to have found our new dog sitter!

Safety, trust & environment

I have a cozy, scent-free apartment suite in Wihkwêntôwin with plenty of parks and walking paths around for walks. I have minimal furniture so there’s plenty of floor space to put their favourite bed, or for them to stretch out. Please provide all bedding washed beforehand (in scent free detergent), pen, crate (or both), poo bags sufficient for the stay, 2 food bowls, tummy meds/probiotics for those pets who are easily stressed when away from home, food, leash + harness, and favourite toys for your doggo. For optimal air quality I run an air purifier and humidifier during daytime hours. I provide them Brita filtered water during the day. I have a mini carpet cleaner for those surprise accidents that most pets (even the best trained ones) will have in a new environment. If your pet needs space where they are the boss of the castle, please reach out! For my dog clients they’ll get walks + exercise throughout the day, exploring the neighbourhood. I have space to be able to throw some toys around so they can play inside, too on those rainy or colder days. They’ll get many cuddles and praises of affection. I do daily cleaning which includes vacuuming and cleaning up any mess your pet may create while staying (even the most well potty trained will usually have an accident or two). I also thoroughly clean my suite after every booking.

A typical day

Your fur baby will be treated like family and get lots of love, cuddles, and kisses! I support them to be cool and confident so they can just be themselves, relax and enjoy their stay. Alongside using positive reinforcement to support them in being their best, I give them tons of love, praise and affection along with a predictable schedule so they can feel safe in a consistent environment away from home. For my dog clients, I love letting them go at their own pace on their walks, taking in all the smells and exploring their curious wonderings. They get entertainment indoors with dog tv on YouTube ?
