Fun, loving, adventurous, dog lover

Pet care experience

I had my first experience with a dog when I was a year old. He was my very first birthday present. He watched over me and we grew up together and shared a unique bond that pet owners only know. Since then, I have been in love with these beautiful creatures and get so excited when I meet a new pup. I've had 8 dogs throughout my life so far as well as cats, fish, and other exotic pets! I am an animal friend through and through. I'm not able to have an animal companion at this point in my life so taking care of your furry friends will surely make me happy. Providing the best care and ensuring your friends safety are my top goals as your pet sitter.

Mariah was kind and reliable, she send a bunch of pictures each day, and was sure to tidy up after my cat. Would book again!

I selected Mariah to watch my cat Keisha during the holiday break (26 - 31) because of her excellent reviews. Unfortunately, I cannot recommend her to other pet owners, particularly those with high need pets. My elderly cat Keisha suffers from separation anxiety, and as a result I needed a sitter to stay overnights with her in my home. I booked Mariah very early - a few days after Thanksgiving - and I shared a written guide with her about my home and Keisha's care that I'd been asked to prepare for a previous sitter. Two weeks later I followed up to ask if she had received it, and she confirmed. The next time I heard from Mariah was midday on Christmas day, when I was 800 miles from home with my family. She began texting me asking about parking. I mentioned that there were lots in the area, but that they were likely paid. I encouraged her to take public transportation, but she told me she was caring for two other cats at the time and would need her car. She told me that she would need money upfront for parking, and asked if I had Apple or Google pay. I told her that in the worst case scenario I could Venmo her, but that I wanted to look into other options. She told me that she would arrive around 6p that day to spend some time with Keisha, after parking was free, and I agreed. I spent two hours on Christmas trying to figure out the parking problem or find another house sitter. Of course by that time, no one was available. By 8:30 p.m. on the 26th I hadn't heard anything from Mariah about Keisha, so I called to ask when she would arrive. She told me she would be on her way soon. She then texted me that she had gotten a flat tire on the highway and that she would get there as soon as she could. Everything felt very off to me by this point, but I had no choice but to follow through. I thanked her for letting me know, and asked her to send me pictures of Keisha when she arrived at my home. I finally received an update and pictures around 11:30 p.m., more than five hours after the agreed upon time. Challenges continued after the stay began. To resolve the parking issue I paid my apartment complex directly for a guest pass for Mariah, and they gave her a pass and a fob to get into the garage. Two nights into her stay, I received multiple calls from my front desk telling me that she had parked in a very clearly marked Reserved parking space for another resident and that she may be towed. I called Mariah 3 times and sent a number of texts, all with no reply. The next morning she told me she had taken care of it. When it came to pet care and communication, I continued to be disappointed. Mariah shared very little in the way of updates or communications. After the first night, I had to prompt her any time I wanted a picture or an update on Keisha. She sent me a few photos and told me that she was doing well. However, when I got home, Keisha was incredibly stressed and anxious. She had thrown up 6 times around the house; I can be sure if those happened during or after Mariah's stay, but she's never thrown up more than twice in a day... My boyfriend spent a half hour cleaning the dried up puke from the carpets. Additionally, her wet food bowl was filthy; when adding food, it hadn't been washed our rinsed out, and had just been caked on top of old, dried food that had gone uneaten. Mariah may be a good pet sitter for pet's that need a quick visit or just a walk around the block, but I cannot recommend her for someone who has delicate or elderly pets.

Mariah was wonderful with our cat, Toby. She took great care of him and gave him lots of snuggles. We loved the pictures that she sent as well! Thank you, Mariah!
