Dog-cation at its finest!
Pet care experience
I became a dog sitter for Rover in July of 2022 and so essentially have been serving pet owners and their beloved dogs for 16+ months. I have had great responses from those as far as from Seattle and to those as close to families/pups in my neighborhood. I don't fear taking in puppies and the socialization and various training etc that goes along with caring for babies. On the opposite end of the spectrum, I have experience caring for the senior dog who may need assistance such as locating their water, food, or direction of where to take "care of business". As a convenience, I have a large doggy crate that can fit small to medium (within the weight limits I have listed) for your convenience assuming it isn't already being used. I have washable incontinent pads that I have collected over time for the young or old who have incontinent issues. I have been taking care of my own pets for 27+ years raising them from 2 months of age to loving them on to their sweet old aged seniors of 14.5 years where they needed to be physically transported down the steps into the yard so they could explore and take care of other needs. In addition, prior to Rover, others have entrusted me to house/dog sit for them while they are away. I couldn't imagine life without a whole gaggle of pets. I have one rescue guinea pigs, a bearded dragon, and two dogs of my own (a Boston terrier 12 y.o. and French Bulldog 3 y.o.). I have experienced needing to administer medications to animals; In addition, I am a hospice nurse so I am very comfortable administering oral and injectable meds if needed. I would love to watch your pups from young, to middle aged, and old while you are away. You can relax knowing your fur ball is receiving the tender loving care through the time you are gone. They are part of our family while you away. I do work full time as a hospice nurse but my schedule is very flexible (I make my schedule) and often when I do go out, my pets and others whom I am watching are not alone for long. It is rare when I am gone longer the 4 hours at a time. I really don't know, or understand, a life without animals in it. I have had a pet my whole entire life as a child and caring for my own x 26 years now. I have two children (a 17 year old son and an 11 year old daughter) of my own who are very confident and responsible children. It wouldn't be just me watching your dogs but my husband and my children are very good with animals as well and will enjoy to interact, play, and love on them too. We have plenty of laps for them to lay and receive love if that is what they want. I have a fenced backyard and I know how to follow instructions if your animals need certain/specialized cares. In my job as a hospice nurse, I get to meet all kinds of dogs, who in my opinion, are a huge importance and a part of the families I care for and quite honestly, I fall in love with too. I REALLY FEEL IT IS IMPORTANT TO MY HOUSEHOLD AND THE PETS I CARE FOR THAT I BRING IN DOGS 40 LBS OR LESS BECAUSE I ALSO CARE FOR SMALL DOGS/PUPPIES AND WOULD HATE FOR THEM TO BECOME INJURED INADVERTANTLY RELATED TO A LARGER DOGS INNOCENTLY PLAYING AROUND.
Reviews
We loved Mariah! Our 13 week old puppy had a great time at her house over a four day holiday weekend playing with other dogs and enjoying Mariah’s care and her family’s love and attention. We would 100% recommend Mariah as a fantastic dog sitter. She is attentive and communicative and very experienced with young pups and older dogs. My husband and I appreciate that we didn’t have to worry about our puppy Maisie while we were out of state for the holidays.
Our two dogs loved their stay with Mariah! She has exceptional communication and provided many photos. You can tell she truly cares for your dogs as much as her own. One of our dogs is going through a tough health journey and Mariah was more than accommodating and so sweet. She made me feel very comfortable to leave my dogs in her care. I cannot recommend her enough!
Thanks for taking such great care of Lily! She loves going to your house.
Mariah is so special to my dogs, we all Iove her!

My house is your dogs' house while you are away. My family treats your fur babies as our own and I love seeing repeate clients come back excited to see us, which goes to show they had a fun and safe time at our house the first time.

Information Mariah M. would like to know about your pet
I find it important to know about any medical conditions or strange "quirks/habits" your dog(s) has/have so I can accommodate these and know what is normal for them. I am comfortable administering medications but would like to know before-hand if there is this need. I feel it is important to get together at my residence with your dog prior to first sitting job so they can get familiar with the location, my family, and lay of the land. This way it isn't such a shock to your dogs when they are dropped off without their mommy and daddy in tow. By now I have had several repeate clients and several have reported that their dogs know when they are returning to their "playground" where they can feel safe and in a trusted environment and can play and be loved while family is away doing the same thing.
A typical day
We have an active neighborhood with lots of dog walking and when the weather isn't too cold or hot on doggy pads, it's a great place to exercise both human/dog. I have an enclosed backyard where the K-9 love to roam, run, play and explore. When I watch dogs and they are playing around in the backyard barking in delight, it reminds me of times past when my cousins/siblings and myself used to play hide and seek and play tag. I can't think of anything more peaceful and fulfilling then to see dogs running around playing and seeing them happy.

I am used to caring for animals and have two dogs, two guinea pigs and a lizard so daily feeding schedules, ensuring water bowls are full, and that the pups get out to potty are the first things that happen in my morning. Having had dogs for my whole life, I am in tune to if they are needing something whether it be love and reassurance or some time outside-my mom calls me the "dog whisperer" because she notices how in-tune w/ them I am and can figure out what they need by their behaviors. I have a flexible work schedule and your pups would only be alone for about 4 hours of the day if that. Plenty of love, play time, and exercise is to be had if that is what they want. I am often given follow up pics from families showing their dogs passed out after they've picked them up when they have had a few days of fun, adventure and exercise in my care.
