Dog and cat mom, shelter volunteer, dog-sitter

Pet care experience

I am a dog and cat mom for over a decade. I have volunteered for a dog shelter where I was taught how to take care of all kinds of dogs from certified vets. I am extremely familiar with all the breeds, dogs with health issues, shy dogs and very energetic dogs.

She took really good care of my dog Nera for 5 days. As someone who has had bad experiences with pet hotels , it was really hard to trust anyone with my dog anymore. I really struggle believing that someone can take care of my dog like I do .Vanessa made sure to contact me everyday keeping me updated throughout the whole time I was away and she was even providing pictures , always answering my calls&texts. My biggest concern was if she would be able to keep up with Nera’s daily walks and her feeding schedule , and of course she did. overall she made me feel so secure.i am truly lucky and relieved to have found this amazing pet sitter, she loves and respects animals ,is responsible and trustworthy.

Vanesa took care of my dog while I was working from 9 to 5. My dog is a male and he weighs 15 kg. She walked him and bathed him upon request. His name is Beau and Beau absolutely loved Vanesa and she loved him back. When Beau was facing some health issues, Vanesa took care of him and gave him his medication. They were very close. She truly loves animals and you can tell by the happy dog you meet when you come back home.

A typical day

Morning Playtime: Start the day with an energetic play session using their favorite toys. Tug-of-war or fetch can be great choices. Outdoor Adventures: Take the dogs for a stimulating morning walk or hike in a nearby park to allow them to explore new scents and sights. Interactive Feeders: Make mealtime more engaging by using puzzle feeders or treat-dispensing toys, encouraging mental stimulation. Playdates: Organize playdates with other dogs (with the owner's consent), providing socialization opportunities and a chance for the dogs to make new friends. Snuggle Time: Take a break for some quiet bonding time, offering gentle pets and cuddles to reassure and comfort the dogs. Dog-friendly Baker: Bake or buy some dog-friendly treats. You can even involve the dogs by letting them sniff ingredients and watch the baking process. Music and Massage: Create a relaxing environment by playing soft music. Consider giving the dogs gentle massages to help them unwind. Visit a Dog-Friendly Cafe or Store: If there are dog-friendly places nearby, take the dogs on a little outing to a cafe or a pet store. Photo Session: Capture adorable moments by having a mini photoshoot. Share the pictures with the pet owner as a delightful update. Evening Stroll: Wind down the day with a calming evening stroll, allowing the dogs to enjoy the cooler air and stretch their legs. Cozy Bedtime Routine: Before bedtime, provide a comfortable and cozy sleeping area with blankets or a favorite bed. Every dog is unique, so I observe their preferences and adjust activities accordingly. Communication with the pet owner is key to understanding the dog's routines, likes, and any specific needs. The goal is to create a positive and enjoyable experience for the dogs under my care.
