I grew up learning how to love and care for pets! My family always had a house full of different animals, including: dogs, cats, birds, geckos, guinea pigs, rabbits, chicks, and iguanas.

Maria was one in a million! She did an amazing job with our super energetic German short haired pointer puppy who needs a lot of exercise ! Maria was a great communicator before, during and after. We got regular photos and updates and a lovely summary after. She left our house spotless and our dog happy. Highly recommended her for all your pet needs.
Maria took care of two cats while we were out of town. We had been reluctant to leave because our elderly cat is in heart failure and requires twice daily medications. Maria took great care of both of them and gave us great peace of mind.
Rover should offer a 10-Star rating choice because Maria Rodriguez was absolutely outstanding! She treated our four pets -- two cats, one old dog and one rambunctious 50-pound puppy -- like royalty. We returned from our 12-day trip to find our house in perfect condition and our pets probably miss her already. She had no problem with making sure one cat had her allergy pill and the puppy had her ear drops and she quickly mastered the old dog's "I need to go outside" bark. She also sent us darling pictures of cozy cats and the dogs at play. We will certainly call on her again. I did not realize Rover had a tip system but tipped her personally for her above-and-beyond service.
Maria provided excellent care to my cat while I was on vacation! She gave my cat lots of attention and affection in my absence, which I appreciated very much. Maria sent photos and updates daily. She was comfortable giving my cat medication, and I came home to a nice, tidy space! Thanks so much, Maria!

I am interested in learning about your pet's personality and needs. It is important to know ahead of time if the pet has separation anxiety or if it requires any special attention or meds. Some pets tend to hide from strangers and have a hard time trusting other people, and it will be good to know if your pet goes through that process, and what are some things that have been done in the past that are helpful.
A typical day
For dogs, I like playing hide and seek, fetching and walking around the neighborhood and/or to any near parks. Practicing commands and giving treats depending on what each pet knows or is familiar with. For cats, since they are very curious, I typically have them play with strings or feathers or any specific toys that they enjoy.

Availability
I moved to the DMV area to be closer to my daughter who graduated from her Masters program, and I am looking for enjoyable part-time work. I spend most of my time at home with my own pets, and wouldn't mind helping you with yours!
