Hello there! I'm Maria, a cheerful 33-year-old hailing from the beautiful land of Italy! Currently, I'm a Research Associate at the University of Sheffield, but my heart belongs to our feline friends. Cats have been a delightful part of my life for over 20 years. I dedicated a decade of my life to volunteering at a cat shelter in my hometown, where I got to know cats of all personalities — from the most affectionate to the mischievous troublemakers! In fact, two lovely senior cats, Birba and Carotino, became part of my family through adoption. Birba is bravely facing stage 2 kidney failure, and Carotino is a champ dealing with arthritis. I'm very comfortable and experienced in caring for cats that require a little extra care due to health challenges.
