Maria was absolutely wonderful! We got updates of our fur baby several times a day and that helped us enjoy our vacation more, knowing that she is in good hands.

I will not book with Maria again. She left my dogs home alone all day & evening on the second day and stopped by briefly (<1.5h tops) in between to give them a short walk (<30 mins) and dinner. On the first day, she took them out for <10 mins and called it a walk. During the day she has other clients and during the evening she has family obligations. It was important for me to find someone who could spend some time with the dogs at home (not the whole day) instead of leaving them alone all day and she said this was not a problem for her during the meet and greet. I provided instructions and made it clear that they were guidelines. She only honored their meal times and left them alone all day and said she was following my instructions. Again, this was not the care we both agreed that she would provide during the meet and greet. She also has major issues with cameras and disconnected them as soon as she arrived. She provided no explanation or notice until after I made a couple of attempts to reach her. I was very transparent about the cameras during the meet and greet and this issue did not come up then nor during the days leading up to the housesitting. She then blamed me for not trusting her after this incident. I only checked in with her when the time was getting late and she still hadn’t returned after leaving the dogs alone all day. She seemed to insinuate that I sit there all day watching the camera whenever I do check ins. I told her I was expecting more communication from her to which she told me she cannot provide updates if she is not with my dogs…which was never…(ha!). We also had another issue which I took full accountability for potentially misunderstanding and apologized but she continued to be hyper fixated on that. All in all, Maria made me feel very uncomfortable about checking in with my own dogs. She sends nice text messages but she was very rude, disrespectful and emotional over the phone. I have a great relationship with my regular dog sitter and I did not communicate with Maria any more or less. It was difficult for me to enjoy my work trip as Maria left the dogs alone all day and gave them potty breaks only until after I had to ask her for proper walks amongst other things. She told me she was this way because I set the tone of the house sitting which seems like retaliation to me. My neighbor even checked in with us upon my return because she sensed that something was off.
