I had a wonderful lab mix for 15 years and she was a great dog. I have not adopted a new dog since her passing but I spent the last year working at a doggy daycare and boarding facility working with dogs of all sizes and temperaments. I loved it there and unfortunately had to leave when I moved away from the area. I have experience watching over and playing with up to 30 dogs at once in an off leash play group and am able to evaluate if a dog will do well with other dogs. In those play groups I have learned how to read a dog's body language and other communication signals. I can tell when a dog is stressed or when they go from having fun to not having fun. I can easily remove a dog from any uncomfortable situations before they escalate and am prepared to handle them if they do.
