Pet care experience
I am an active foster and volunteer with Animal Care Centers, I work mostly with cats there, however I am comfortable with dogs as well. I've worked with a range of animals of various ages and situations, from young kittens with medical issues, to shy cats, to puppies younger than 3 months, to senior dogs/cats, to special needs dogs/cats. I try my best to accommodate to each individual animal's needs and am always learning new things. I have to admit, sometimes I enjoy the company of animals more than people :). In addition to my work in the shelter, I also have experience working private dog and cat-sitting/walking jobs and have been doing so for about five years now.

Maria is amazing!! She came to meet the kitties first, and it was obvious right away that she really cares. We needed two visits at very set times every day, which she accommodated, and was very reliable in hitting those times while we were gone. One of my babies has some extra medical needs, and she was great about that. She even helped Santa in setting up some presents for my daughter, for when we got home! I can’t recommend her highly enough, and feel lucky to have found her. We had a better trip knowing the kitties were in good hands while we were away.
Maria was fantastic with my cat. She was very clear and communicative, and quite reliable. I’d definitely recommend her!

It's important to know how they walk, whether they're dog reactive, or they have any triggers or fears. Also if they are allergic to anything. This is to ensure the safety of the dog and myself.
A typical day
Depends on where you live! I enjoy biking and/or walking in Forest Hills Garden and Forrest Park. We will both get our steps in. If your dog is social with other dogs, I can him/her to the closest dog park where we'll play fetch with the other dogs, run around, etc.

I work from home Tuesdays and Fridays, so I'm looking for some animal company and exercise on my lunch breaks! Rain or shine I love walking and animals.
