My name is Maria, an experienced dogwalker who recently moved from Stockholm to Richmond. I am originally from Slovakia. Since I was a child, I have loved animals and nature, especially dogs and horses. For that reason I have chosen the Veterinary University to study cynology with specialization in canis- and hippotherapy. During my studies I voluntered in several organizations, including animal shelter, from where my family adopted a mix breed german shepherd dog, Mia. She had to stay with my family in Slovakia and I really miss her, but I'm grateful, that in Stockholm I had the opportunity to spend time among dogs. It would be great if I had the opportunity to also enjoy long walks with them here in Richmond. I worked as an official dogwalker for Tassevärld, where I walked every weekday a small group of dogs - a young standard poodel, king charles spaniel, a beagle puppy, an older springer spaniel, an australian cobberdog and a miniature schnauzer- so breeds of all sizes and temperaments :) Wandering through the forest is the way how I relax, and in my opinion,every living creature needs time spent far from the city rush. Therefore, whenever possible, I prefer go with "my" doggies to the nearest forests. Not only long walks but also visiting dog parks is a good opportunity for the guys to play and socialize with others. As to handling and training, I prefer positive reinforcement :)
