Pet care experience
I have over 15 years of experience caring for my own dogs as well as fostering rescue dogs to prepare them for new homes. I am experienced in walking, feeding and playing with them. I help care for my housemate's and friends' cats, which I adore. I currently do not have a dog and really miss having dog energy in my life! I believe the keys to dog and cat care are patience, consistency, love, and accountability. You especially need to be patient with rescue dogs with histories of abuse and neglect in order to learn what works for them. I believe consistency is crucial, since this is how you will earn the animal's trust. Of course, my love for animals is what drives me to now care for my friends' dogs and cats, and it is what drives pet owners to use Rover to make sure their pet is safe and happy Like people, every pet is different. I like to tailor dog and cat care to the specific pet and their families. It is just about knowing what those differences are that will help me make your pet feel safe and happy while you are out.

Maria cared for my cat, Ramona, while we were away for Thanksgiving. She was easy to coordinate with, asked all the right questions during our meet and greet, and sent photos of Mo while we were gone. We will most definitely be rebooking with Maria! ❤️
Maria took fabulous care of my anxious dog and house sitting while I was away. Maria spent lots of time with Pinky, and giving her walks and love. She left my place in great shape, and Pinky was calm and happy when I returned. I would absolutely book María again and recommend her.

I can take care of your pet in your home since I cannot have additional pets where I currently live. I can walk your dog around their neighborhood and/or, with your permission, drive/walk to the nearest enclosed dog park so they can roam around and socialize. I have a dog seatbelt attachment for my car to keep your furry family member safe. With cats, I make sure they have the food, clean water, and if agreed upon beforehand, clean the litter box.

I would like to know if they have any special treats or toys, if they don't like any specific type of physical or verbal contact, if they are can be taken to an off leash dog park, and if they are cat/other dog reactive while on walks.
A typical day
I love to go for long walks around the dog's neighborhood, giving them a chance to sniff along the way. I also like to walk them on areas that are familiar to them and can make it easier for them to relieve themselves, which I always cleaning up promptly. I enjoy playing with dogs who are ball or toy motivated and like to play fetch or tug-o-war. I also like doing activities to test their sitting and staying skills, especially if they are treat motivated.

Availability
I work full time, but can walk your dog, or visit your dog or cat, in the evenings and anytime on weekends. I am available for overnight visits if needed so your sweet furry family member is not alone and can be fed and/or walked in the mornings.
