Friendly neighborhood dog walker!
Pet care experience
Dogs have been a major part of my life from the time I was five years old and we adopted our first family dog, Coco, a standard poodle! She quickly became an integral part of our family, and she fostered the life long love of dogs and animals that I nurture to this day. In terms of experience, I am equipped with a variety of dog care and training skills. Having helped at my brothers dog daycare business, dog-sitted numerous times for friends and family, and lived on what some consider a small farm ( dogs, cats, chickens and turkeys) - I am confident in caring four your four legged furry friends! I also am very experienced in caring for senior dogs, as our 16 year old family dog, Coco, became both blind and deaf with old age.
Reviews
Mari has been an animal lover her entire life and is particularly attentive to their needs. She has cared for our ageing standard poodle with a gentle and patient approach. She cares for our younger and spirited doodle with energy and steady attention. Mari is well organized, insightful and responsible. She is an excellent communicator too!
Mari is great with all animals! We have two dogs and a lizard and she has been fabulous when watching them. She is thorough in her care and communication, punctual, and always happy to go the extra mile for us. We feel so lucky to have found her! We would recommend her to everyone!

Safety, trust & environment
Pet safety and care is my first priority. As a dog walker, I would be very conscientious about weather conditions that could be potentially harmful, such as extreme heat or cold. Depending on the weather conditions, I would be sure to bring necessary supplies ( that the owner would provide) such as water and portable dog bowls or protective sun shirts. I would also be sure to have a thorough understanding of the dog’s individual health and care needs prior to the first walk. Along with this, I would make sure to have a good understanding of the neighborhood/area I planned to walk a dog in. Lastly, and most importantly, I would always make sure to have the owners contact information in case of a medical emergency.
Information Mari D. would like to know about your pet
There is some information that is important to know before walking any four legged friend! First, I would make sure to be aware of any health issues or special needs that a dog may have so that I can insure their safety. My senior family dog became deaf and blind for the second half of her life, so I am fully aware that being in tune with a dog's specific needs is crucial to ensuring a positive experience. Secondly, I would want to be aware of the dog's behavioral patterns or any possible triggers they might have (such as loud trucks driving by, behavior toward other dogs on a leash, or small children walking near by on the sidewalk). Third, I would ask the owner if there are any special commands or training that I should be aware of to utilize when walking their dog. Lastly, I would want to gain a good understanding of how long a typical walk would be for a dog so that I can give them a fun and safe walking experience!
A typical day
I think walking a dog within a safe and fun area is of upmost importance! I would make sure to check with the owner about what areas they believe are the best to walk. If a residence is located on a busy road with lots of traffic, I will do my best to find alternate routes on quieter roads nearby that are safer and more pleasant for your dog. Of course if there is a favorite park nearby we will have to visit there!
