Pet care experience
Hi, my name is Margaret! I offer loving pet care in your neighbourhood! Currently I offer house sitting, and drop-ins! I provide services for mainly dog and cats, but have experience with reptiles, bunnies, hamsters, fish, ect. I offer short-term and long-term bookings. As well as bookigs for multi-pet household's. My bookings are done on a first come first serve basis, so the earlier you book ahead the better, but that being said, life happens. This is why I allow for same day bookings for overnight care! You are able to book well in advanced as well as on short notice. I know that not every dog enjoys being surrounded with other dogs, so my services focus on one-on-one, individualized care for your pet. While in your home, I treat your space with the upmost respect and you can always count on me leaving it in pristine condition for your return. It's safe to say that my life is all about pets. When I am not caring for a Rover client, I am at work training to become a future groomer, or going on adventures with my own fur babies! I just relocated back home after living 4 years in Cape Breton, Nova Scotia. I am excited to bring the east coast hospitality back with me to the big city!! I will be updating my day time availability as I am looking to continue my dog grooming work in Calgary but am needing some time to get settled first. For house sitting, my overnight care includes care throughout the day, so if I am not at work, I am with your pet(s). I can't wait to hear from you!! *** I am fully vaccinated and can wear a mask when meeting you indoors. I typically take my mask off outside, but will keep it on if you ask.
Reviews
Margaret was Willow’s first sitter on Rover and she did not exceeded our expectations. Margaret and our dog were best friends by the end of the trip. She also left the house in perfect shape when we returned. Highly recommended!
Margaret was awesome. She responded to all my texts and questions while I was away and sent beautiful pictures of Ghost. At the meet and greet Ghost took to her right from the start. He actually approached her as soon as he saw her. He purred for her. She made sure he was well fed, entertained, and played with. When I came home she had suggestions for Ghost that were fantastic. I have booked her for another stay!
Great with updates. Easy transaction.
Margaret did a great job taking care of our pup who needs meds and has been known to have seizures. It was a great relief to see the daily pictures and updates. Would most definitely use her services again. Highly recommend having her in your home to keep your mind at ease while you are away.

I am certified in dog and cat CPR and First Aid! When I am with your pet I keep my eyes on them at all times. They have my undivided attention. When walking in the early morning, at nightfall, or on days with low visibility, I wear reflective gear and put a light-hoop around your dog, or a light on their collar. Before my stay I ensure that I have emergency contacts, veterinarian information, and have a clear understanding of your dogs personality and any medical conditions. Your pet will always be fed and have access to fresh water, unless directed otherwise (such as in some cases of diabetes). I will never take your pet(s) to any offleash parks, given the unknown behaviour of other dogs. If for any reason they need to go in my car, I have a dog seatbelt that I clip them into for the back seat as a safety measure. I ensure that I understand any medical concerns your pet might have, such as arthritis or medication schedules. I am experienced in giving oral medication to both dogs and cats, so if this is something that you need me to do, I feel comfortable doing so.

Availability
Monday to Thursday I work as a professional dog groomer at ChowBella in Okotoks. I work from 8:30am to 4:30pm. I typically plan my meet and greets for Tuesday's or Wednesdays. While your fur babies are in my care I am able to take them out for a walk before leaving for the day to help start their day refreshed and regulated. While away, I follow your lead on what works best for them, such as being in a crate, or roaming around the house. I will always ensure that the space is safe, any doors that need to be closed are closed, and that they are kept in a space they feel comfortable in. When I finish work, the first thing I do is take your dog out for a walk and to the washroom. On days when I am not working, your dog is with me the whole time and we enjoy the day together! This can include walks, cuddling, brain exercises and mental stimulation, and playing around.
