Pet care experience
I grew up with dogs off all shapes and sizes. The bulk of my experience with dogs comes from volunteering as a dog - walker with the Oregon Humane Society. I volunteered at the Oregon Humane Society from May 2012 through April of 2016, initially working with small animals (rabbits, rats, guinea pigs) and expanding to dog - walking in ~ August 2014. I received the 2014 "Small and Mighty" award from OHS for my work in the Small Animal Room. Completed "Pet Pals" training at OHS early last year, which consisted of basic dog obedience training such as sitting, waiting and "off". I love dogs of all shapes and sizes, especially "pocket dogs" like Chihuahuas and other dogs less than 15 pounds. I'm that person you may have seen stopping traffic to pick up a loose dog. Will do anything and everything I can to make their lives happier.

I love ALL dogs of all shapes and sizes. I would like to know if your dog has any history of aggression towards people and other animals, just to take the appropriate precautions (though ALL dogs no matter what size or temperament can and do bite, so I would have them on leash unless I have your written permission to take them to off leash parks). Also would like to know if they are up to date on their vaccinations, and if any food allergies or other health care needs.
A typical day
It definitely depends on the dog. For example, if the dog is anything like my beloved Maggie, who sadly passed away in 2015, the walks most likely would be interspersed with carrying in my arms. Mount Tabor is a favorite of mine. If your dog is large and energetic, with your permission we'd go to the south side of that park and just play ball , run and socialize with other dogs. If your dog is more laid back, we'd probably hang out in local neighborhoods like Montavilla and/ or Hawthorne, stop for coffee and lots of sniffing around. I am very flexible and able to hone in on your dog's interests pretty quickly.
