Pet care experience
I've always had a pet in my life, currently an 8-year young golden retriever. I just lost my 19 year old cat. I miss her, so cat care fills the loss somewhat. t's a joy for me to be with and care for animals. I'm retired so I am home 7 days a week. I take my own dog to the trail in the morning but unless I'm out of town for a visit or vacation I am available. I think every pet owner has different expectations and since I'm offering visits to their homes I will follow their guidance. I know pets have expectations about feeding times and walk times so I will make every effort to be 'on time' so they're not kept waiting.
Reviews
Harley was well cared for, happy to see us.
Margaret took care of my cats, Ty and Chi, over the holidays and did a great job. (Thanks, Margaret!) My cats took an immediate liking to her. I will definitely use her again!
Margaret took good care of our older cat while we were away. We appreciated the photos. We also appreciated that she replaced the kitty litter scoop after it was broken. Thanks, Margaret!
Peggy did a great job with our cat and other things while we were away. Will schedule her again.

If I am caring for a pet for the first time, I take my guidance from the owner. Pets have different needs. I will use my own judgement as needed but will always default to the owner's expectations.
Information Margaret R. would like to know about your pet
I want to know if your dog or cat has special needs. Do they bark? Are they aggressive when they encounter new people or other dogs; or, are they timid. Do they take medication, need special foods, need more potty breaks than most? Can they be let off leash to run or must they be constrained at all times?
A typical day
I hope to provide the stimulation your dog needs. I take my own dog to the NID trail every day for 2-3 miles, and then take her for a shorter (1 mile) walk in the afternoon. I prefer to let my dog off leash but there are places where that's not possible so she is leashed for at least part of each walk. In the summer we paddle board and swim.

Availability
I am retired and have plenty of time to care for pets. Morning, afternoon, or evening -- it works for me. Occasionally I leave town but am usually available.
