Every walk/visit is an adventure!

Pet care experience

Second to safety, my priority is always FUN! I have over 10 years of professional dog walking/sitting experience and a lifetime of caring for family's and friends' animals. I have always ensured that my four-legged friends have as much fun, get as much love and attention, and are as safe as possible. I cater to the needs of each specific dog and mold our activities/walking experience around each different personality, or based upon your requests. I will send an update and a picture with each service and provide details about anything I noticed so that you know exactly what's going on with your fur baby every time I'm with them. I am comfortable around all dogs and have experience handling everything from the stubborn walker-protester to the overactive adult who still thinks they're a puppy. My availability is listed but it is loose and can be worked around. Thank you and happy wagging!

Short Notice she was able to stop by & CHK on my dog's. Just gave her address & dogs names. Dogs were happy to see someone.

Good communication prior to, and during, drop-ins. Seemed to interact well with our cats, including the shy one. She sent photos at every visit.

Margaret is THE BEST! She takes care of my two senior kitties, who need extra care, when we need to go out of town. Not only is she reliable, but she goes above and beyond the call. I feel very fortunate to be able to have someone I can rely on and trust completely to care for my kitties while I am away, and they love her!

Safety, trust & environment

I follow a standard care routine for every single pet which includes changing water every visit, topping off food (if applicable) or feeding, cleaning litter boxes, giving a treat upon entering and/or departing (to distract them so they feel less sad (unless otherwise requested)), and providing plenty of outdoor potty time and picking up after them if conditions prohibit a walk. I also always make sure to leave the client's home in the same condition or better than I found it.

Information Margaret R. would like to know about your pet

Basically anything you want me to know. I dont really have any reservations of any kind and I always do a free meet and greet beforehand to make sure it's a good fit.

A typical day

I'm very in tune with each animal's needs and preferences. Enrichment for one pet can look completely different for another, so I work with the animals and the parent(s) to make sure they're getting what they need. For more energetic dogs, I like to run around and make the walks exciting and adventurous, and for more regimented dogs, I stick to a certain distance per time and make sure they're staying on track. I do light training like heeling, sitting, and basic leash manners if requested, but if it's just a casual walk I'll let the dog take the lead. I can split up a walk and add a portion of yard or indoor playtime as well as anything else the parent requests. For cats, everything aforementioned also applies. I know some kitties need to kill your hand or a toy to get the energy out and some need very careful, quiet, and gentle care. I have endless patience when it comes to shy kitties and I will always do my best to make sure they feel loved and safe while their parents are gone.

I took a break from Rover to focus on school and my other job, but now I'm taking a break from school and getting back into pet sitting because I genuinely miss the fulfillment and happiness that comes with caring for animals. My other job's schedule fluctuates and is flexible, so I can definitely work with each pet parent on availability and needs and be able to provide reliability for an agreed upon schedule.
