Pet care experience
I am an avid hiker, so if your dog needs fast/long walks I am open to hiking with your dog. I will travel near or far with your dog in tow to go play in a lake or river, if that is your dog's preference. Anything outdoors. I am adamant about picking up after dogs and will always have poop bags and properly dispose of them. I will not tie up bags and drop them at trailheads or next to garbage cans! I have experience with both small and medium breeds, and dogs with medical needs. I cared for a small breed dog with back surgery who was crate-bound for months, needed to be potty-trained all over again and undergo daily physical therapy. I am very sensitive to and observant of dog body language and their way of communicating discomfort.

Margaret was an excellent caregiver for my two pups, including a diabetic dog who requires insulin shots after meals and close monitoring of her food intake and possible potential hypoglycemia. My pups loved their stay! I’ve already booked two future trips! I love that she took them for walks appropriate to their energy level and interests! She asked for lots of info about them, so I listed the words they know and their habits and health needs in Rover - she said more info was better! They had a lovely stay and I can travel knowing my pups are in good hands. Thank you, Margaret!

I always keep pets on leashes and keep my eye on them-- no unattended surprise "deposits" are left on trails or sidewalks. The only time they are off leash is at a fenced in dog park or inside the house.
