I grew up with dogs and for the past 16 years have raised my own family of 8 with dogs around all the time. Our first dog was a small terrier raised from a puppy until he crossed the rainbow bridge at the age of 12. In his advanced years, he was blind and diabetic. I learned and became comfortable with administering insulin shots to him twice a day. For the last 3 1/2 years we've had a large doodle taking over our hearts and home. Both of our dogs were well trained to walk on a leash and respond to simple commands.

Does your dog like puppy play dates? Once your dog is comfortable with me, with your permission, I'd be happy to introduce our dogs and walk them together for some fun interaction. If your dog prefers to be the only pup, that works too! Happy to spoil them with some extra tlc.
A typical day
Living in Blooms Crossing there is no shortage of places to walk! I can be found keeping it simple with a walk up and down Manassas Drive or venturing throughout the neighborhood to check out the holiday directions. For the dogs that can handle a more rigorous walk, the blooms park trail is a fun walk full of shaded trails, little streams and some steep hills. Signal Hill park also provides great walking trails where we can see other dogs, bark at the geese and see the occasional deer crossing the trail in front of us.

Availability
I am a stay at home mom with kids in school and kids that have flown the nest and are off in the real world. My schedule, with proper notice, is flexible during the day. Evenings are more of a challenge for me since that is when mom-mode switches on for the kids activities. I am an avid walker with my own 83 pound energetic ball of fluff and are usually out each day clocking 2-6 miles walking the neighborhood and local trails.
