I cared for our dog Mazy for thirteen years until we recently had to say goodbye. She was a handful as a puppy because of all her energy (“crazy Mazy”) but a very sweet girl who loved people and other dogs. As she got older she had health problems that made it difficult to walk and we needed to use ramps for her to get in and out of the house and the car. When we went for walks they were very slow and she spent more time taking in the neighborhood scents than actually covering any distance. I learned from Mazy to have patience with a younger dog who wants to run more than walk and with an older dog who does more sniffing than walking. I miss her company and it would be fun to get a “doggy fix” while helping other pet owners give their dog that extra attention they love.
