Pet care experience
Have an animal with special needs, that requires basic training, or that just needs a little extra love? I am more than happy to help! After graduating with a Bachelor's of Science in Agriculture and Veterinary Nursing, I became certified as a veterinary technician and worked for 3 years with the University of Missouri's critical care team. Now, I continue to live my dream in Colorado Springs, enjoying a city filled with animal lovers. Outside of work, I love fostering special needs animals. In the past, I have raised 4 litters of bottle baby kittens, rehabilitated 3 injured cats, and trained 2 puppies until they were adopted. My services include training, walking, overnight care, and potty breaks. I am more than happy to assist with medicating for a small additional charge. Disclaimer: Although I am happy to assist managing medical conditions, I cannot diagnose and my help does not replace veterinary services. Please always follow your veterinarian's directions.
Reviews
Was very pleased with the flexibility, the texts and photos along with her willingness to help with some other chores
Margaret did everything I would have expected with Belle and sent us a photo.
Maggie is a true animal lover and treats all of them as if they were her own. She is responsible and very educated when it comes to pets. She has taken 4 years of veterinary nursing classes and has worked at various vet clinics. She has even helped rehabilitate one of my cats that I adopted from the shelter who had a broken leg! She will take good care of your fur baby and as someone she has pet-sat for in the past, I highly recommend Maggie!
About Margaret D.
Communication
Skills
Safety, trust & environment
I prefer to keep all client pets at their home with the exception of walks around the neighborhood. I prioritize the comfort level of our furbabies and understand the importance of the trust you put in me. I can provide basic grooming and have my own nail trimming and brushing tools but do not provide hair cutting services.
Information Margaret D. would like to know about your pet
I have no breed restrictions. I would prefer a short meet and greet prior to caring for your pet and require a heads up on any special concerns (resources guarding, food sensitivities, bolter, reactive, dislikes men/hats/etc, sensitive to feet being touched).
A typical day
I prefer to keep walks local to the neighborhood but am willing to go hiking at the nearby state parks for long walks/high energy pups. For cats, I usually play by ear on how comfortable the kitty is. Play time or snuggle time is available for crazy and cuddly kitties!

Availability
My schedule is flexible and open! I am happy to help whenever I'm needed and have the most availability during weekdays. Happy to help facilitate dog walks during busy work days.
