Pet care experience
I’ve taken care of dogs, cats, and a variety of other animals since I was a child. I grew up on a farm home to horses, ducks, chickens, and goats and am comfortable with pets of all types. I currently have a dog and a cat of my own. I have attended basic obedience courses with my personal dog, including at 2SpeakDog in Richmond, VA, and utilize positive reinforcement methods for training.

Her patient, calm, and warm energy is consistently received well by humans and animals alike. She’s also incredibly reliable and responsible - she has two degrees and she’s a medical professional, all while being a dog and cat mom. She’s dedicated her life to helping people and animals, including volunteering at and donating to local shelters! She treats everyone (and every animal) like her own family and is just a downright awesome person!
Margaret is great with pets! She has taken care of my dog many times, and I would highly recommend her. She has experience with many animals (dogs, cats, horses, and more), and really understands what dogs need. Margaret is dependable and will show up on time. Your pet’s safety is my top priority! Please inform me in advance of any medical issues or other concerns your pet may have. I follow owners’ instructions for caring for their pets. I will use equipment you provide (leash or harness) for dog walks and take any precautions you suggest. I understand some pups are more sensitive to being around other dogs, children, etc. - please let me know if there is anything along those lines that I should be aware of before I walk your dog, so that I can provide your dog with the safest and happiest experience possible!

A typical day
Your dog and I will take a walk around your neighborhood, checking out the sights and smells! I love the local parks and would be excited to take your dog on a stroll through the park if you happen to have one nearby! If your dog likes to play fetch or tug of war, I’m happy to include some time for play activities in the visit! And of course, I’ll spend some time spoiling your dog with lots of pets and attention.
