Dogs tend to take to me pretty easily and quickly and I love spending time with them, playing fetch or catch, taking a nice long walk, or just giving them a good belly rub, scratch under the chin or behind the ears. I’ve been a main care taker of my household pets regularly for about 5 years now, first for roommates dogs, helping to walk and feed them daily as well as being their primary care giver when my roommates were out of town for short or long periods of time. My ex-roommate actually hired me to dog sit for a week this summer and is flying me all the way to NYC to do it! I currently live in a home with a dog and take responsibility for feeding and walking her and, of course, giving belly rubs and cuddles. I have cat sit for two cats multiple times at a friend’s home while she was away for an extended period of time. And I pet sit while simultaneously babysitting for my sister for many years for her two daughters, cat and dog so I can handle a lot at the same time. My experience with different dogs ranges from big labs to mid range mutts (including pit bull mixes) to smaller dogs like my current household buddy, Peanut, who is a Havanese/Bichon mix. I’m currently working part-time, mostly online, so I have plenty of time to play with and care for your beloveds! I’m available during the week and on weekends, whatever is needed. I will take good care of your pet in the comfort of your/their own home and familiar environment-feeding them, walking them, playing with them and any of their favorite toys, as well as giving them direct physical attention and some good rub downs. I’m completely comfortable with letting them sleep in the same bed with me if that is what they’re use to. I am equally comfortable crating them when they are nervous or scared to help them feel more secure. We utilize a thunder shirt at my home for our little dog who gets scared and shaky during storms so I have experience with that. Rest assured, your pet will have my full attention and loving care for the entire duration of your absence. And I will be sure to keep you updated with status reports and pics to let you know all is well.
