My name is Maral ( pronounced Mer-All) and I have been taking care of all manner of pets for most of my life, but professionally for about 10 years. I started by helping a former employee raise & train a puppy into what is now a 120lb Doberman with incredibly even temperament and sweetness, and realized in the process how much I love working with dogs and their people companions! I have since work with many dogs, big and small, and have pick up a slew of tricks and management techniques to bring to my clients. I currently a work as a dog trainer at Alpha Dog( located in Mill Valley.) My services are unlike other Rover sitters, because I provide basic dog training in my stays. I will work on daily dog manners such as loose leash walking, and threshhold boundaries ( no bursting through doors to get out of the house for example,) as-well as structured walks that incorporate obedience training and leash work. I can introduce your dog to further advanced things such as crate training, or introduction to a remote collar for off leash walking should you like( I use Educator brand remote dog collars, and can bring an additional collar with me for the purpose of training during the stay.) The services I offer are essentially a “Board & Train, ” that comes to your home while you are away. From nervous dogs, to powerful and pushy breeds, your pup is in expert hands.

We needed someone to take care of our 10 year old lab who has cancer and is undergoing chemo treatments while we were out of town. Maral was absolutely amazing with our dog. We met up at Dolores Park a couple of days before and she picked our dog up and dropped her off at the start and end of our trip. She sent plenty of videos and photos and assured us that everything was going great! We were so lucky to have found her and our dog has a new favorite cuddle buddy. She even clipped her nails. Maral is an incredibly responsible and trustworthy dog walker and dog sitter. My dog, Daisy, is a high needs dog with some behavioral issues. Maral is very attuned to her and her behavioral needs and is cognizant of the environments she takes Daisy into, always making sure that Daisy is safe and is not going to be triggered by outside stimuli. Daisy absolutely adores Maral (she even let her trim her nails a few weeks ago)! Without being asked, Maral also will work on basic obedience with her. I have used Maral on multiple occasions to be a dog sitter when I have been on vacation or work trips. Last year I went on a two-week trip outside of the country and I felt so relieved and confident knowing that my dog was being provided excellent and responsible care when it would have been difficult to get back home quickly if anything went wrong. Maral is well known and well-respected among myself and my neighbors. I wholeheartedly recommend her.

She brings a great deal of knowledge, patience and consistency to assisting with daily routines, shows up consistently and is very professional. With Maral, I always feel confident, Watts is in good hands and has proven to be trustworthy with my best friend for over 2 1/2 years now. Maral is also great to recommend and implement important details like nail trimming, keeping me updated on behavior patterns and monitoring for fleas and ticks and always has the knowledge and information to help address the best solutions and resources. A typical day
I know every dog is different, but I am up for it all. Be it off leash walking in the fire roads of Marin, or playing an hour of fetch in the backyard, or enrichment feeding with a nose work mat, I always start with calmness, and make sure we end on the same note :)

Availability
I’m typically at work between 9 and 3PM, but I have flexibility in my scheduling to be able to leave on lunch break and check in on younger dogs or those that need a mid-day potty break.
