Hello! Meet the host: I'm Mara and I live in Oakland. I will tire then your dog out and pamper them until bedtime. I have lots of experience with dogs, including a wide range of ages and breeds. I am a communicative host and happy to send photos and updates because I know that makes me feel at ease when I have to be away from my dog, Simba. Meet Simba: He's getting older now, but he can still keep up (he just takes more naps now). He is a very gentle, loving, and expressive shepherd mix... emphasis on the mix. He gets along with pretty much every dog and loves the company of a furry playmate! We take walks for potty breaks and exercise (2 flights of stairs). We get out 3 times a day and Simba has some good sniffing spots to share. My pup isn't on a strict schedule so we are able to accommodate if your pup is regimented. I live in an apartment that has stairs. Dogs must be comfortable going up and down two flights of stairs. All house-trained dogs with good temperament are welcomed in my home. I will ask questions to learn about your dog prior to boarding so I can prepare to make their stay as comfortable as possible. Each dog is different and I love learning each personality. For first time stays, I prefer to do a quick Meet & Greet to make sure the dogs get along well and that my services are a good fit for your dog.

I will message you with questions when we book a stay such as: -How vocal is your dog (ie. barking or howling)? -What is your dog's typical schedule, such as feeding times and potty breaks? -Any additional needs (ie. special diet, medications, quirks/triggers, abilities, etc)?
A typical day
Your dog can expect: -walks around the neighborhood and around the lake -dog park visits (with owners permission, of course) -visits to the neighborhood cafe or local pubs (if they would enjoy and behave) -lots of belly rubs and cuddles -plenty of exercise, socializing, and relaxing

Availability
I work out of my home so I can be pretty flexible and the pups get plenty of attention. We typically walk 3 times a day and love going to fenced in dog parks if that is suitable for our guest dog. Simba isn't attached to a strict schedule so we are able to accommodate if your pup is regimented. Regular dropoff/pickup hours are between 9am-8pm, please check with me first if you need to schedule outside of those hours.
