Dog life, Farm life

Pet care experience

My crew relocated to Stanwood, WA! We left King County in search of our dream home, a farmhouse on acreage! Now that we are settled, I am thrilled to meet your pets ;) Prior to working for Rover, I worked in the coffee industry for companies such as Tully’s, Starbucks and a local coffee roaster in roles from District Management to Business Development. A few years ago, I transitioned from my high-travel job as a coffee consultant to a stay-at-home mom, dog mom & care-taker. I spent the last 3 years care-taking for my father-in-law and then my father back-to-back. I’ve adopted and rehabiliatated ‘last chance’ dogs over the years so I have a soft spot for particularly challenging dogs that are often misunderstood or require a little more patience. I have 7 dogs at home (this is why we needed a farm!) ranging from a 4 pound chihuahua to a 60 pound Golden Doodle. In addition to last chance dogs, I’ve brought home senior dogs. We also welcomed our first special needs/ disabled dog a few years ago. He needed assistance walking for his first several months of life and currently undergoes physical therapy at home. So I’m comfortable with whatever your dogs needs might be! I hope to help you and your pups :)

Our senior dog loves Mandy! He still has a lot of energy for a 12 year old, and needs walks when we are out of town. He gets excited to go out with Mandy and we get awesome updates while we are away ?

This is the second time that Mandy has cared for my pets while I was away and she has yet again impressed me. My animals were happy, clean, and well-loved when I returned from vacation.

Bonnie needs medication 2x a day and Mandy took care of it. She is a 15 year old cat and a bit cranky but warmed up right away.

Mandy rules!! This was our first time using Rover. Of course we were a little anxious about trying this new service, but Mandy totally put our minds at ease. Will definitely book her again!

Safety, trust & environment

As a pet owner, I believe in following an owner’s instructions. I believe in doing the right thing regardless of if anyone is watching. I also treat your home and pets the way I would my own. If I see something on the floor I wouldn’t want my dog picking up, I will be sure and pick it up. Low water bowl- fill it. My spouse is in law enforcement. So we value trust and safety very much.

Information Mandy S. would like to know about your pet

I’m comfortable with any and all breeds/ ages/ temperaments. I have pretty extensive experience in behavior modification and rehabilitation from working with K9 trainers when I took in my first rescues. In particular I have passion for doing my part in sharing with the world that there are no ‘bad’ breeds. That said, safety first. Let me know if your dog has special needs or preferences so that I can make sure to provide the best care!

A typical day

On walks or home visits, we will do whatever your dog enjoys! My dogs love having jobs at home on the farm. I get joy from truly interacting with animals.
