Red Rover, send Mandy on over!

Pet care experience

Hi there! My name is Mandy. I’m a graduate from Azusa Pacific University with a B.S. in biology (pre-med) and humanities. I will be attending medical school in the fall with hopes to eventually become an ER physician. I have had animals in my family since I was a kid, including dogs, cats, horses, and Guinea pigs. I currently have a Maltese, and also had a golden retriever for 12 1/2 years who we unfortunately had to put down in February 2022. I have lots of experience with dog walking, dog sitting, and house sitting - you can check out my reviews, and I have other references upon request as well! I love all dog breeds and all animals, so if you have any other pets (cats, bunnies, horses, etc.) that would need care while you’re gone, I’m your girl. Thank you for checking out my profile, and I look forward to meeting you and your animals!

Mandy is amazing. She is super responsible, uses common sense and clearly feels very comfortable caring for animals. She’s house sat for us multiple times and exceeded ours and and our fur babies expectations. We are so thankful to have finally found someone that we feel safe leaving our pets on vacations with and have all the confidence in the world knowing our pets and home are in good hands. I’m actually hesitant to refer her to anyone because I want her all to myself, ha! I suppose my dogs and cat can share her though ;) You won’t regret booking with her.

Mandy was an absolute gem. She was responsive to our ever-changing schedule and was the perfect companion for our puppy. Thanks again Mandy!

Mandy did a wonderful job! She was calm and competent, so we had peace of mind while we were away, and went above and beyond our expectations.

From start to finish Mandy was amazing. She was always quick to communicate and was so great with our labs. I had no worries when they were in her care. I know our pups are excited to see her again next!

Safety, trust & environment

Although I do not currently offer pet boarding at my house, I offer the same kind of care to your animals in your home that I would to my own. Between playing, exercising, feeding, and cuddling, your fur babies are guaranteed to be happy and healthy while you’re gone! Something that I pride myself on is that every client of mine receives pictures and/or videos of their pets nearly every day as well! (Please note that my Rover percentage of clients who receive photos is inaccurate as I often send them via private text and not through the app). Additionally, I will take care of any house chores that need to be done while you’re away, including bringing in mail/packages, watering plants, and bringing trash cans out to or in from the curb. Finally, I will always leave your house better than I found it; it is a standard of mine to always wash and replace the sheets/towels that I use, take out the garbage and replace it with a fresh bag, wash and put away my dishes, as well as clean and tidy up any spaces in your home that I have occupied during my stay. There is no better feeling than coming home from a trip to a clean house with no chores to do!

Information Mandy G. would like to know about your pet

If there is anything special about your pet that may be important for me to know, please don’t hesitate to tell me! The more I know, the better I can take care of your animals and the more I can put your mind at ease while you’re gone. Some general questions that I like to ask are: Are they good with other dogs/people/kids? Are they house broken? Do they require any special needs/medications?

A typical day

Whether your animal has a normal day-to-day routine or not, I’ll make sure they get what they need when they need it! Every pet I care for will get specialized care depending on their needs. Exercise for dogs can range anywhere from throwing balls in the backyard, to walks around the neighborhood, to going to the dog park! Got cats that need exercise? I’ll keep them chasing a laser or a dangling feather for as long as they want. What about horses? I’ve been riding for over 10 years, and would be happy to ride, lunge, hand walk, or turn them out. Love and cuddles will be given to every animal, and treats of course (assuming they are allowed to get them)! Does your pet need a good grooming? I’ve got you covered! Whether it’s a simple brushing or a full on bath, your fur baby will be spotless when you return. Any medication that your animals need will be given on time, every time. Whether it’s pills, injections, or topicals, I’ve done it all and have the knowledge to administer any medication properly.

I currently work as an EMT in Santa Clarita, and my shifts are typically 12 hours. If I know the dates that you need my services early enough (usually 2-4 weeks in advance), I will either be able to request work off or attempt to trade my shifts (assuming that you are uncomfortable with my absence for that amount of time). If I do have a long shift during my stay in which I cannot come back in my lunch break, what has worked out in the past is having a friend or neighbor that you trust to come to check on your fur babies. Other than work, I have no standing commitments and will be able to spend the rest of my time with your pets!
