I rescued my dogs when they were 12 weeks old. They were the last two of their litter, and I could not justify separating them even though I knew it would be twice as difficult and time consuming to raise them. That is the level of compassion I have for my dogs. I will occasionally pet sit for my friends. One year, I had a puppy German Shorthaired Pointer in my home (for a total of 3 dogs), went to another home and played with 3 dogs (2-3 times a day), and house/dog sat for another 3 dogs. I did this for 4 days during the holidays, and I loved every second of it. Taking care of another person's family member is a task I take with seriousness. It is important that pets get the attention and care they need when owners are unavailable.
