I have taken care of dogs and cats on and off since I was 10 years old. I have rescued and rehabilitated multiple cats for rehoming, I petsit for my friends and family frequently, and I've walked dogs of all kinds. I have experience with large breed leash-aggressive dogs, service animals with highly specific training needs, anxious puppies who need extra love, elder dogs with medical needs, and everything in between. I understand that every pet has different needs and it's my job to get to know that pet and meet those needs. As a graduate student taking classes from home, I also have a very flexible schedule. I can visit your fur baby whenever is most beneficial for them.

Maleah was great! I had a last minute need for my cat to be checked on and she was very responsive! She checked in right on time and even stayed a little longer just to give my girl some extra company. Highly recommend :)
Maleah did such a wonderful job walking our little golden retriever. They were punctual, sensitive to any behavioral needs that Wennie might have, and was able to pick up a shift last minute for us!

I like to be flexible to the needs of the animals. I'm all about reading body language and interacting with pets in the way that makes them feel comfortable and loved. For energetic pets, I play until they're tired out. For nervous and older pets, I take it slow and get them used to my mannerisms and presence. I like to learn about the commands, personality, and regular patterns of behavior for an animal before I take care of them whenever possible. I *always* pick up after pets.

A typical day
I love playing with pets in every way! I've found that gentle tug-of-war and sniffing games are especially popular with older dogs. I love a good game of chase or fetch with energetic dogs. I'm well versed in the tasks and games that keep working-breed dogs entertained. I'm an expert at bringing out a cat's predator instinct (string and laser pointers are my favorite). I also leave time for lots and lots and lots of sniffing.

Availability
I have a very flexible schedule so I can frequently take last-minute bookings. I make a great "on-call" pet sitter and dog walker. I travel regularly for work so I'm not the best choice for regular, long-term sitting needs. Do you have a pet that simply needs some human interaction and attention while you're away? Ask me about the "study at your house" special! I'm a graduate student who always has homework and I'm happy to spend extra time studying at your house to give you more bang for your buck :)
