Pet care experience
I currently work at a dog kennel, Laurel Acres Kennels, where I care for up to 100+ dogs, cats, and other small animals. I provide basic care including dog walking, feeding, bathing, and other activities. I have worked at this kennel for 3 years and know how to handle all types of breeds while on walks.

From the first initial meet and greet, shy and timid at first Twyla, opened right up to Makena so we knew we were leaving her in good hands! We will definitely reach out to Makena next time we need a cat sitter!

I am not offering at home boarding however any pet under my care on walks will be very cared for. I will ensure all of their needs are met. This can include water after walks and ensuring safe dog walking temperatures.

Information that I like to know before providing pet care is if your dog has any allergies to anything. This is important for me to know as I want to protect your pet from any potential dangers. Also I plan on bringing dog treats on walks so I want to ensure I’m not feeding anything that is dangerous for your pet. I also like to know if your pet is reactive to anything like people, other dogs, etc. For my and others safety I will also like to know if your dog is food or toy aggressive. Lastly I would like to know what your dog likes on walks as well as their favorite toy or snack!
A typical day
Fun activities that I will do when watching pets is playing with toys that the pet is interested in or setting up treat games that will promote brain activity. A special place that I like to go is the river front path in south waterfront Portland area that leads to Willamette park. This path is very safe and beautiful and comes with many smells for interested dogs. I also love to go on walks in nearby parks as I prefer to walk dogs in grass over cement since it is better for sensitive paws.

Availability
I currently work 20-30 hours a week at a dog kennel so my schedule is a bit unpredictable. However I am always available on Wednesdays and will always update my days available. I will be going back to college at the end of September so my working location will change.
