Pet care experience
I'm available early mornings and also available in the evenings after work around 6 pm most days. Currently I have Thursdays and Fridays off and on those two days I am available from 7 to 8:30 pm. I don't do late nights because I work day shifts. With being a past pet owner for 15 years from childhood, teen to early 20s, I am confident with the years of experience in pet care of both dogs and cats. I used to have more than just cats and dogs as well. I have handled goats, cows and chickens as well. Each species and breed and each one had unique personalities and needs. If I need to know something about a specific breed, I just look up the breed of the animal and ask questions about what makes them unique. I want each animal to feel at home so they are happy and can eat and feel safe while their pet mom or dad is away from home. I have a lot of respect for animals of any kind and can adapt to meeting their needs. I want your pets to not only have their physical needs met but their emotional needs met as well so that they are happy enough to eat and play like normal. Sometimes all a pet needs while you're away is some company to help ease the blow of you being away and having their food and water just the way they usually get it when you're home.

Makelle did a great job watching my 2 girls, she spent the night with Keisha and Bella. She sent pics of them and they were so calm when I got home as though I never left them.
Makelle was super attentive to my pets while I was gone on vacation. She sent me lots of picture updates.
Makelle was an excellent sitter. She was very attentative to my animals and sent me lots of updates so I could see how my babies were doing. I really appreciated the care and attention my babies got while she was house sitting. She left my house exactly as I left it. I'll definitely book with her again.
Makelle is an avid animal lover and baby sits my two dogs and two cats when I go out of town. She is excellent at sending me photo updates of my pets and letting me know how the pets are doing. Makelle likes to think of how she would feel if she were an animal and treats it as such that my cats and dogs were spoiled rotten while I was away. She is excellent at cleaning litter boxes and spends a little extra time making sure my pets get attention and love while I am away.

I make sure animals of any kind feel safe with me before I command them and make sure they feel loved in my care. Some animals have had a rough past life and need extra patience. Some of them are just timid natured and need a gentle spirited person. I'm actually very good with both trained and untrained pets and can even help enforce new desired behaviors in pets. I use body language and food for desired behaviors. If I want your pet to be calm with me, I make my body and voice calm.

I would like to know if your pet has any needs that are out of the norm. i.e if they need meds and how they take them, if they have been abused or have trauma or pain, if they are old and have senior needs, if they are still in process of being trained, how I can continue to maintain any training progress they have made, what commands they listen to and what noises they hear you make to them when calling them or getting them to do something, if they have any special requirements out of the norm I would like to discuss them. I require a hand written or printed instruction list of your pet/pets needs at the time of meeting so that I don't miss or forget to do something important for your pet. I want to make things as safe and comfortable as possible during the times you need my service.
A typical day
If you would like, I can take them to your local dog park with specifics on how your pet acts around other dogs or animals. If your pet is a cat, I will snuggle and pet and or gently brush their fur if your cat does enjoy being cuddled or pet. I will play with your pets with their favorite toy/toys as long as you show me how and what they like to play. I bring a really calm energy with me at first and for most of the time except in play time and if I'm feeling too excited then sometimes animals can get scared or sometimes they can get amped up and jump and get excited too. So I just bring a calm and confident energy with me so that they will be able to remain calm as well. Even skittish cats will warm up to me eventually. Once I got an abused cat to warm up to me. He was very scared of humans and would hiss and bite and scratch people for simply existing and moving around and making any kind of noise. The poor little thing is the very cat who taught me so much about being kind and reverent to animals with lots of different backgrounds. You never know what could have traumatized an animal and have to bring a calm and non anxious energy no matter what and never punish them for appearing angry or upset. They don't know better. They are just defending themselves. So I'm really good with even animals who have been abused. I just let them warm up to me if they feel safe and comfortable with me.

Availability
I'm currantly working full time and have a limited amount of time to play with your pets on work days. I make it a point to communicate as much as I can before we meet to ensure wether or not my services will be a good match for you. Since I have to be at work by 8:45 am on certain days, I cannot skimp on my sleep and need to make sure I fit the drive time I have to take into consideration. I can drop in in the mornings before work depending on how close your home is to my work.
