I'm super happy to have found Maile. She and her little dog, Oyster are a great fit for Leo and me. Maile has been responsive and thoughtful in her care of Leo. Leo was super excited when he realized where we were going on our second day of daycare.

Work from home, flexible, fun

Hi, my name is Maile and I have over 20 years of experience caring for animals, mostly in other people's homes. Now that I have a dog of my own (Oyster the "cockahuahua") and a job that allows me to work from home, I am excited to host dogs in my own home and provide them companionship, exercise, friendship, and fun while they are here!

My dog Oyster is a 10-pound, really friendly 2-year old ...

What Maile would like to know about your dog

My schedule is very flexible and I am open to last-minute requests. However, it is my policy to always meet potential guest pups in advance. I need to ensure that your pup will get along well with my dog, Oyster, and that in general we are all a match. So please plan to work with me to schedule a meet-and-greet in advance of your pup's stay!

Oyster is allowed on the bed and other furniture only by invitation, and that would be my preference for visiting dogs as well. He gets lots and lots of attention, love, and exercise all the time so I don't think he minds! I live in an apartment so smaller breeds are best, but I'm open to any breed, age, size, or sex.

When Maile watches your pet

For normal walks, we usually go to Volunteer Park, which is quite close. It's great for on-leash outdoor adventures. Every day we will go for a longer walk to the Capitol Hill off-leash dog park at Plymouth Pillars, where they will get at least 90 minutes of walking, running, and playing! At home they can expect more playing with Oyster if they are up for it, plus a LOT of snuggling and snoozing.
