Pet care experience
Hi there! I’m a VERY experienced pet sitter who thinks no job is too big or small! My family began fostering dogs & cats when I was in elementary school so my passion of caring for animals started at a young age. As soon as I was old enough to housesit overnight on my own, I began a small freelance pet sitting business that has brought me over 10 years of fun with the most amazing pets around! I’ve watched everything from bearded dragons, to chickens, to bunnies, kitties and puppies! I do not discriminate on breed, size, or level of care needed and am more than happy to snuggle your loved ones or distract them with a game of fetch while they await your arrival back home. Pets with medications, disabilities, and special needs do not scare me.

Maia has such a special way with dogs, especially the shy and misunderstood ones. She makes every animal feel safe. I have been so lucky to have her watch my dogs for over ten years. Your dogs won’t want to leave after a visit with Maia! How lucky for Portland to have Maia as a resident now! My dogs miss her already!
Maia is the most responsible dog caregiver I have ever experienced. She went above and beyond to make sure Kai was cared for when I had to travel for work, including getting ahold of me when she noticed unusual behavior (that turned out to be normal to me- she had just never experienced it before!) which I appreciate so much. I will ALWAYS hire Maia to care for my fur baby.

I prefer a good rundown of how your pet has behaved during your travels in the past as it is usually a good indicator for future behavior. Emergency contacts and choice of veterinary office in the case of an emergency are helpful as well. I would rather be over prepared than under!
A typical day
Typically my energy matches those of the animals around me. If your dog is a couch potato, I am happy to oblige! However if they need frequent walks and trips to the park, I’d love that as well.

I am lucky enough to work from home so I can provide your pet with the most time, attention and love as possible! If I need to leave, it will be for no longer than 2 hours max.
