Hi, I’m Mai! I’m currently a full time graduate student that loves all kinds of animals. I’ve been privately hired to watch dogs, cats and exotic animals such as pet rabbits. Having two rabbits of my own, I understand no matter the size, every animal is unique and special part of our lives. After working with small pets, I’ve developed a love for the process of gaining trust with more timid or untrusting animals. I have experience caring for senior animals with medical or incontinence issues and have cared for puppies of many friends and family.

Frequent communication is key when trusting someone else with your furry one. I love to take lots of photos and videos, and if you communicate health or behavioral needs to pay attention to, I give detailed daily reports. I currently board rabbits in a separate room away from my own rabbits at home, and am happy to board cats in that space (no two animals will be boarding at the same time). Your kitty would have a private room to explore and play in. I care for all animals with fear-free handling and understand each furry friend has different needs and personalities. If dropping in or staying overnight, I am respectful of the space and clean pet spaces accordingly.

A typical day
I love offering different types of enrichment depending on the animal. Pets get bored too, and finding the enrichment they love to keep their brains and bodies stimulated helps redirect unwanted or destructive behavior. I enjoy building on training skills your pet may already have or working on them in appropriate settings. If they are able, we will explore lots of smells at the Washington Arboretum, the beach, or a soccer field. For dog walking, I’d love to know any details about your dog’s usual route, triggers and other do’s/don’ts that you’d like to share with me. I want to offer an enriching and safe experience for dogs of all size and reactivity.
