Pet care experience
I have been working in animal care facilities since I was 14-years-old. I have a great deal of experience with domestic animals, especially cats, dogs, small mammals and exotics. My experience encompasses various species, breed, sizes and temperaments. I am a responsible, detail-oriented individual with a clean driving record and a passion for working with all animals. I have experience working with disabled animals, animals with behavioral issues and those requiring medication. I also have a lot of experience caring for felines, small mammals, exotics, avian and livestock species. I have experience with health, behavior and enrichment for these species as well. I am currently Animal Control Manager in Washington DC. If it's an animal, I will love it and care for it as my own! You can feel secure and stress free with me watching your pets!

Maggie was a wonderful pet sitter for our 1 year old energetic Labrador! Her extensive experience with dogs in her career as a vet tech made me feel very confident that our dog was in good hands. I treat each client as an individual- knowing that each animal has a different personality and specific needs. I have two dogs and two cats of my own that are all great with other animals and have a secure fenced in yard if a situation arises where a client would need to come to my home though I prefer to provide care from the pet’s home as this helps reduce additional stress and separation anxiety.

Before working with a dog, I like to get an idea of his/her personality traits (i.e. energy levels, nervous habits, etc.), as well as activities he/she will enjoy and what to avoid when on walks such as bikes, skateboards or anything that might scare and/or upset your dog.
A typical day
I enjoy running, walking and hiking, as well as playing fetch or with any toys your pet will enjoy! I also have some behavioral and training experience and am very passionate about animal enrichment whether it be providing outlets for energy or extra cuddle time on the couch.

Availability
As an emergency responder, I work odd hours and so am currently doing more drop-ins and walks than extended per/house-sitting. I do house sitting as well but that is more dependent on my schedule and the individual needs of the pet(s)
