I am currently a graduate student at ETSU with a forty year plan. Due to moving away from home I no longer get to see Charlie, my sweet little poodle who I’ve had for about ten years now. I have helped my mom take care of him, which includes the usual walking, feeding, and brushing out the knots in his hair. A few years back we started to shave his winter coat ourselves during the summer. We mainly started grooming our pups ourselves due to our late and beloved Great Pyrenees, that was no longer able to get shaved at the groomers during the summer. I do not believe there has ever been a time, other than the four years that I have been in undergrad and now graduate school, that I have not had a little furry friend accompany me. As my father likes to say if it has four legs and fur I’m probably trying to chase it down to hug it, not that I don’t love animals with less legs or fur.
