Wanted: Quality time with dogs!
Pet care experience
My family has always had dogs of all shapes and sizes in our home. I grew up with a rescue beagle, attended puppy school with our boston terrier, and had a senior rescue pup of my own. I have pet sat for friends and family many times, and feel confident when trusted with their animals. I am very comfortable with dogs of all sizes and temperaments, though I have the most experience in dealing with rescues that need more time and energy to come out of their shell. I have a soft spot for shy dogs, and know how to respect their boundaries.

Maggie was great! Our dog Gabby got a nice tiring walk, and Maggie was kind enough to check on her water and give her a kong before leaving. Maggie is punctual, reliable and friendly. I would not hesitate to recommend Maggie to any dog owner.
I’m almost hesitant to write this review because Maggie (they/them) is my best kept secret of Vancouver Rover. They are capable, communicative, trustworthy and reliable. Juicy has spent time with Maggie on walks, overnight stays, daytime boarding and every time we do a drop off she’s pulling at the lead to get inside and start their hangout. I will always book with Maggie when I can and can’t recommend them enough for new-to-Rover or nervous pet parents.
If you are looking for someone who is caring, kind, and a good communicator (not to mention a lovely disposition), I highly recommend Maggie for your pet sitting/ dog walking needs! Maggie is wonderful with animals! They have cared for my cats multiple times and for extended amounts of time. Maggie understands how important furry friends are and treats them like her own :)
Maggie (my daughter) has always had a way with animals. They have always been drawn to Maggie, no matter what kind of animal. She rescued a beagle from Montreal who now lives with me, and she currently cares for two rabbits. She would be a terrific walker/caregiver. Your pets may want to follow her home!

I have dealt with reactive dogs before, and know how to manage dogs with traumatic pasts in order to gain their trust. I am very comfortable feeding, grooming and administering medications to pets if needed. I will always do my best to make sure they are comfortable and relaxed throughout our time together.

A typical day
I love to take pups to nearby parks, and hopefully introduce them to new environments and new smells. With higher energy dogs, I enjoy games of fetch, "tag," and letting them run free in enclosed spaces can be a really fun way to form a bond with them. I can also work on their leash and/or recall skills, if requested, throughout the visit. With older, more relaxed, or special needs dogs, I am accustomed to taking slow, leisurely walks around the neighbourhood with lots of encouragement along the way.

Availability
I currently have full availability on Mondays, Thursdays and sometimes Sundays. Otherwise, I am always available for house visits and walks in the late evenings after work.
