Avid Lifelong Animal Lover!
Pet care experience
I'm a young professional who has grown up around animals my entire life, unfortunately, I’m not able to have a pet of my own in an apartment so I’m looking for opportunities to spend some time with new four-legged friends! I've ridden horses since the age of 8, so I grew up around all kinds of animals. I have volunteered with multiple animal rescues in the past and completed dog handling courses. I'm comfortable with dogs of all sizes and ages. My family dogs range from 9-45 pounds, but I've known plenty of big dogs in my life, like Great Danes, Collies, and Newfoundlands! I love animals of any kind and welcome the opportunity to spend time with any new fuzzy friends :)
Reviews
Maggie has a long history of working with animals beginning when she was 8 years old, caring for, riding, and competing with horses. She plays an active role in the daily care of three dogs and a cat at home. She has also raised rabbits. On a volunteer level, Maggie has worked with multiple animal shelters. She is skilled in animal management, but most notable has superb emergency response skills. She has managed multiple animal emergencies with dogs and horse, maintaining control of an animal who has spooked, become aggressive, or run away. She stays calm and responds appropriately and rapidly to ensure the safety of any all people or animals involved.
About Maggie G.
Communication
Skills
Safety, trust & environment
When walking or caring for someone else’s dog, I always follow the owner’s guidelines and preferences. This applies to any training requests, the amount of exercise/play time, specific collars/leashes/harnesses to be used, etc.
Information Maggie G. would like to know about your pet
Let me know if your pet special needs or restrictions relates to diet, exercise, medication, physical abilities, etc. I don’t have experience with special needs dogs but I’m willing and open to learn if it’s a good fit!
A typical day
I love mixing it up a little on recurring walks, whether it’s exploring a different part of the neighborhood, going to a park, going swimming, or even making a special trip to a puppaccino. I like figuring out what kind of play a dog enjoys best whether it’s fetch, tug of war, agility, or just getting out for a good walk.
