Pet hair as a permanent accessory!

Pet care experience

My family has always had a variety of pets from birds and fish, to cats and dogs. I could never say no to having a critter around and made sure to keep my promise of caring for them like they were members of the family. I’ve had my small posse of 3 critters for 8 years now, growing and changing with them as they enter their senior years and learning what it takes to care for them. Whether it’s regular exams for lumps, trimming nails, bathing/grooming, and adjusting their diets as they need it. My animals, and my friends animals, are my family. They will only know the best love and care, get all the attention and exercise they could possibly need, and always having a healthy meal. When I first adopted my dog she came from a breeding household and never learned to socialize, so I took it upon myself to receive training from a professional on how to best take care of her and how to make sure she is well behaved. After several sessions, and lots of at home training, I learned her body language and what makes her the most comfortable, how to have her follow instead of lead on a leash, and how to communicate her needs vs my expectations.

Maggie did such an awesome job with our two dogs! One of them had eye surgery recently and she made sure she got her meds and plenty of rest and love. She did everything we asked and more! Our house was clean, tidy, and the dogs were happy and healthy when we got back. Could not have asked for a better sitter!

Maggie did such a fantastic job house-sitting and watching over our two energetic pups for two and a half weeks! I recently moved to Minot and was a bit nervous about finding a new dog sitter for our energetic dogs, but Maggie was the perfect fit. We met twice prior to our scheduled meet up, we went over everything from the dogs to the house, and emergency numbers - this made us feel so comfortable and relieved that Maggie was willing to go above and beyond even before we left. Throughout our trip, we received a video updates daily with nice messages and updates on how they both were eating, playing, etc. Since this was the longest we've ever left our pets, it truly helped put us at ease and we can't thank Maggie enough for that! Upon returning home, everything was better than we left it, towels and sheets were washed, and they took great care to leave a note about any last messages. I'm so thankful we found Maggie and are looking forward to the next time we have a vacation planned, since we'll know we won't have to worry at all! :)

I needed an in house sitter while I was out of town for my 3 pets, and Maggie was the perfect fit! They helped clean up after the animals (and themselves), kept with their feeding routines, and made sure all the critters got lots of attention. Since then they’ve always been my go-to person for any pet care, especially for long term stays.

I’ve known Maggie for almost a year now and I’ve seen the love and care she gives her own pets and others. Maggie is very loving, caring, and gentle when it comes to all animals. She very patient and understanding when it comes all pets of any kind. I believe Maggie would be great to be a part of your team!!

Safety, trust & environment

Though I don’t offer pet care in my own home, I am very comfortable taking care of others in theirs. I understand a pets territory is very important to them and will take my time gaining their trust so that crating, or household separating, is never an issue. If a pet parent has guidelines or something they are trying to train out of their pet I am all ears and open to integrating that into my daily interactions with their pets.

Information Maggie D. would like to know about your pet

Please let me know if your dog has a special routine to meeting new people and what works best for us to bond quickly. If they have special needs, a feeding/walking routine, or any habits you’d like to work on is all information I’d like to have when meeting your furry friend. I have no breed preferences, I love them all big and small nor does age affect my quality of care. I want to treat them like your family, so let me know what that means for you.

A typical day

From my personal experience most dogs, and animals in general, love mental workouts just as much as physical. So with walking and playing will also come tasks and duties to keep them on their toes and ready to listen. Whether it’s problem solving a new toy, or finally learning how to ‘sit pretty’ keeping them busy and tiring them out is the main goal.

I just moved to the area and am in the process of obtaining a full time job as an independent contractor, which means I get to make my own schedule. Weird hours and scheduling is no stranger to me, and I am flexible with not only my own routine but those around me.
